IIM Amritsar MBA Admissions 2016 – Description of Stages
Following is the stepwise brief description of admission cum selection criteria for candidates:
- Candidate appears in CAT 2015 examination to begin with the admission process.
- He is screened for further rounds by applying cutoff on the score obtained in CAT 2015.
- Selected candidates are called for group exercise/writing ability test and personal interview.
- Final composite score is calculated and final merit list is drawn to allot seats, categorically.
- Candidate gets all the documents/certificates verified and pays the admission fee to begin semester.
Note: Only those candidates are eligible who have opted for IIM Punjab while applying for CAT 2015 and have undergone the WAT/PI process of IIM Udaipur/IIM Kozhikode.
Detailed Information on IIM Amritsar Admission Criteria 2016
Once the candidate applies for IIM Amritsar, he has to meet the cutoff criteria set by the institute on the basis of CAT 2015. If score of a candidate is more than or equal to the cutoff, he shall be deemed as eligible to participate in admission process at IIM Amritsar. It will be applied on sectional score as well as aggregate score. Institute will send a mail to the shortlisted candidates for their confirmation regarding admission process participation. As per the IIM Amritsar Admission Criteria 2016, shortlisted candidates will be thereafter asked to appear in Group Discussion (GD)/Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). A composite score will be calculated after considering score of CAT 2015 and aforementioned rounds coupled with previous academic record and work experience. Higher the score implies better chance of final selection. A candidate will be screened at multiple stages by application of cutoff. Admissions will be done strictly on the basis of merit list, drawn separately for each category of candidates.
