IIM Raipur Admission Criteria for 2017-19


IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2017 – The admission policy of IIM Raipur has been announced. The candidates writing CAT 2016 and interested in taking admission in IIM Raipur must check this admission criteria to know the qualifying CAT percentile and other selection criteria. This IIM Raipur Admission Criteria is for 8th PGP Batch and the size of the batch is 280. The candidates will be shortlisted initially on the basis of their CAT 2016 percentile, decided CAT 2016 cutoff of IIM Raipur, candidate’s profile. Thereafter, WAT and PI will be conducted for all the shortlisted candidates and on the the basis of merit, the candidates will be placed in the meirt list. The nine new IIMs (Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Trichy, Udaipur, Amritsar, Bodhgaya and Sambalpur) have decided to adopt a common process of WAT & PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Rohtak. IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2017-19

IIM Raipur follows strictly the Government of India’s Policy on reservation.The admission process to Post Graduate Program (PGP) comprises of the following three stages, which have been detailed below in the article –

  1. Shortlisting of the candidates on the basis of their CAT 2016 Percentile

  2. Conducting the PA process, which comprises of Written Analysis Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)

  3. Preparing the final admission list after taking into consideration the CAT score, WAT & PI score and Profile score.

Note –

In case any of the older IIMs (Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, and Lucknow) will be willing to share their WA & PI score with the 9 IIMs, the common candidates who have applied to new IIMs, will not be required to appear for WA & PI process separately. The common candidates will be intimated the names of older IIMs sharing WA & PI scores with new IIMs.

IIM Raipur Admission Policy 2017 – Minimum CAT 2016 Percentile

The Institute announces the qualifying CAT 2016 cutoff, which must be obtained by every CAT 2016 aspirant who is willing to study at IIM Raipur. The candidates obtaining equal to or more than this score will only be considered for the WAT & PI shortlisting. The IIM Raipur 2016 Cutoff will be decided by the Institute after the completion of CAT 2016 exam and it will be applied for shortlisting the candidates for PI-WAT. The candidates must note that the official IIM Raipur 2016 cutoff will be quite high as compared to this qualifying percentile and it is never announced officially. For shortlisting the candidates, various other parameters will also be taken into account.

WAT & PI Process – IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2017-19

The shortlisted candidates will be called up for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). On completion of these rounds, the final merit list will be prepared by summation of the scores of all stages.

The weights assigned to the scores of each stage according to the IIM Raipur 2017 Admission Criteria are as follows:

  • CAT 2016 score – 32%

  • Personal Appearance Round Scores (both WAT & PI) – 30%

  • Profile Score – 38%

The Personal Appearance Round Score will have a weight of 30% in the final merit. This round will comprise of two other rounds. The weightage of both of them is as follows:

  • Personal Interview (PI): 20 Marks

  • Written Analysis Test (WAT): 10 Marks

The candidates will also be given a Profile Score which will have a weightage of 38% and is decided as follows:

  • Work Experience: 6

  • Diversity: 12

  • Academic Profile: 20

IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2017 – Final Selection

The candidates who will be offered final admission and who will accept the same will be required to submit the acceptance fee of Rs. 50,000 and offer acceptance form within the deadline. If the candidates will withdraw the admission before the registration, they will be charged Rs 1000 as the processing fee and the next candidate in the wait list will be given admission.
