IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016 refers to the process of selection of candidates for admission into MBA postgraduate program for session 2016-18. The institute will apply various selection parameters to decide candidates for final allotment on the available seats. Since it doesn’t have any entrance examination of its own, score of CAT (Common Admission Test) 2015 will form the basis of selection. Admission process will also take into consideration a candidate’s work experience, past academic records, performance in the personal interview. Detailed IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016

Stage I – Qualifying Examination

A candidate is required to appear in any of the following examinations and obtain a valid score to be eligible to participate in admission process. The list of eligible tests is:

  • UGC/CSIR JRF (other JRFs will not be considered)
  • CAT conducted by IIMs
  • GMAT/GRE (General/Advanced)
  • GATE
  • PGDM of IIMs not older than 5 years.

The candidates who are appearing in the final eligibility exam can apply as well however their final selection will be subject to successfully qualifying the degree examination. They are required to submit proof of eligibility qualification latest by 30 September 2016, following the admission date. The respective areas will decide its tests from the list mentioned above. As per the IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016, a candidate is allowed to apply to two areas at a single instance. Hence getting shortlisted in one area doesn’t guarantee shortlisting in another. If different areas schedule the interviews on the same date and time, it is up to candidate’s discretion in which area interview he wants to appear.

No request for change of interview schedule will be entertained in any case. To become eligible for admission in IIM Rohtak, it necessary for the candidate to score at least 60 percentile in aggregate and 50 percentile in each exam sections. In case of GMAT score, candidate’s score must be at least 600 and he must feature in top 15 percentile score. It is to be remembered that actual cutoff score used by different areas for shortlisting of candidates in IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016 maybe higher than the minimum eligibility marks/percentile. Those who are possessing PGDM of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 5.5 out of 10 or equivalent will be eligible for applying directly. They need not appear in any of the aforementioned entrance examinations.

  1. Criteria for Shortlisting for PA Process

Those who meet the cutoff criteria as mentioned below will be asked to appear in PA process. To cross the cutoff, candidate must score CAT 2015 marks more than or equal to the cutoff corresponding to his category.

From the candidates who meet the IIM Rohtak cutoff criteria from above table, only those candidates will be called who meet the cutoff criteria for class X, XII, and UG as set by IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016.

For scoring the Work Experience for consideration in IIM Rohtak Selection Policy 2016, the following table will be used:

Note: Female candidates will be assigned a grace score of 60 to ensure gender diversity. To ensure subject diversity, candidates having a non-engineering background will be assigned a grace score of 60.

Eligible candidates will thereafter be ranked on the basis of actual Grand Total Score and top specified number will be called for the PA process above a required percentile. Shortlisted candidates will not be required to appear for PA process as and when IIM Rohtak will share the score of six older IIMs. Common candidates will be informed in due course of time, on the names of older IIMs sharing PA scores with IIM Rohtak.

IIM Rohtak MBA 2016 Admission – Personal Interview

Candidates will be called to personal interview on the basis of merit in the entrance examination. Each area will decide the number of candidates to be called for PI round. Shortlisted candidates will have to attend the PI round at IIM Rohtak or any other venue as decided by the institute. Call letter for interview will be issued to shortlisted candidates. As per the selection process, the schedule of PI round is expected in April 2016. In the interview, assessment of candidates will be done on the basis of their intellectual capabilities, research aptitude, and interest in the management discipline. Final assessment for admission in MBA program will take note of the performance in the qualifying entrance examination and PI round.

Preparation of Final Shortlisted List (FSL)

IIM Rohtak Admission Criteria 2016 describes that weightage of 50% will be assigned to CAT 2015 Total Score (Scaled to 100). The following weights are assigned during the PA process: PI and WA 30; and WE, PAP and any other component that may be included 20. Minimum cutoff may be applied to PA components.
