The candidates who apply for admission in IIM Shillong in the application form and meet the following cutoff criteria will be sent a confirmation mail by IIM Shillong. They can check the same on the official website of the institute. They have to confirm their willingness within the stipulated time to participate in the admission process. Cutoff will be set for sectional score as well as aggregate score in CAT 2015, class X, class XII, and UG degree course. Only those candidates will be deemed as qualified who will be able to score marks more than or equal to the cutoff in section as well as aggregate. The following cutoff table was used for admission 2015-17.
|Category||SSC Percentage||HSC Percentage||Graduation Percentage||Section A (CAT 2014 Percentile)||Section B (CAT 2014 Percentile)|
Further shortlisting of candidates, as per IIM Shillong Admission Criteria 2016, will take place on the basis of academic background. Those who have opted for IIM Shillong will be first separated on the basis of graduation discipline as reported in CAT 2015. Thereafter IIM Shillong will decide number of candidates for number of seats available for allotment. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear in PI round. Score of PI will be considered along with score in CAT to decide inclusion in final merit list.
Admission committee will review all the applications and shortlisted candidates will be called for Writing Skills Aptitude Test (WSAT) and Personal Interview (PI) on the basis of their GMAT scores, academic performance, and work experience (if any). WSAT and PI rounds of IIM Shillong Admission Policy 2016 will be held in four cities of India – Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Schedule of these rounds will be January 2016 to April 2016. They have to attend the PI at their own expense. Final selection will take place for those candidates who attend PI and WSAT apart from other factors. Selected candidates would be offered admission by the 4th week of April 2016.
Performance of a candidate in CAT as well as class X, class XII, and UG degree program is important to shortlist a candidate for the second stage of admission process. It is important to note that relative performance in all these aspects will weigh more than performance in CAT alone in IIM Shillong Selection Criteria 2016. The following cutoff table was used to shortlist candidates after PI round, to be considered for preparation of final merit list.
