IIT Bombay – Eligibility Criteria for admission to Master in Management

For Indian Candidates

  1. The candidates should have a four year Bachelor Degree or a Master’s Degree in any discipline, passed with first class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) out of 10
  2. The candidates can be a CA/ICWA, who must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) out of 10
  3. The candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. They will be granted admission subject to fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria as stated in (i) or (ii) at the time of joining the course.

For International Candidates

Anybody holding a foreign passport, or has Indian passport but is studying/working abroad continuously for more than or equal to two years (as on September 30 of preceding year of joining the programme) is an “International Applicant”.

The eligibility criteria for such applicants is as follow –

  1. The candidates should have a four year Bachelor Degree or a Master’s Degree in any discipline, passed with first class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) out of 10

  4. The candidate who holds a foreign passport and does not have Indian passport is required to clear TOEFL or IELTS.

IIT Bombay MBA Admission 2017 – Application Process

Prerequisites

Before filling in the application form, the candidates must ensure that they have obtained a DD as they will be required to fill the DD number, date and name of the bank in the application form. Also, arrange for the scanned copy of the below-listed things –

  1. Passport size photograph
  2. Signature
  3. Graduation Certificate/Copy of latest semester mark sheet (for students still appearing for the final semester or yet to receive Graduation Certificate)
  4. CASTE certificate
  5. CAT scorecard

Application Fee to apply for IIT Bombay MBA Admission 2017

  • Amount for General/NC-OBC male applicants – Rs. 1600
  • Amount for SC/ST/PWD male applicants – Rs. 800
  • Amount for female applicants – Rs. 800

This fee can be paid through,

  1. DD – Drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Bombay payable at Mumbai
  2. Online – SBI online banking & Credit cards

How to access and fill the application form?

  • Fill all the details in this form carefully and submit the same to get login credentials.
  • On submitting, the candidates will receive a confirmation email.
  • Now, using this registered email ID and password, login to the respective student account.
  • Once the candidates are logged in, they can fill the application form.
  • Fill all the details in the form then, upload the enclosures and submit it.

Selection Procedure for IIT Bombay MBA Admission

IIT Bombay accepts only score of CAT to grant admission to Master’s in Management. Apart from the CAT score, various other parameters are taken into consideration and a merit list is prepared.

A merit list is prepared based on the following –

  • CAT 2016 score – 20% weightage
  • WAT marks – 10% weightage
  • PI marks – 34% weightage
  • Academic profile – 23% weightage
  • Work Experience – 9% weightage
  • Extra-curricular activities – 4% weightage

Based on the CAT 2016 score, the eligible candidates will be called for a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview for IIT Bombay MBA Admission 2017-19. On the total score of PI & GD, the candidates will be finally selected.

Note – All the shortlisted candidates will be required to book the slots to appear for WAT and PI as soon as the shortlist will be released.
