Karnataka PGCET 2016 – The notification for the final round KPGCET 2016 counselling has been released by KEA. This is the last and the final round of counselling. Important Dates related to Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2016 (Final Round)

KEA is conducting the final and last round of counselling. The option entry can be made only in online mode from October 1 to 4, 2016. The final round seat allotment result will be declared on October 4, 2016. The counselling process comprises of document verification, option entry and seat allotment. The conducting body will release the seat matrix for every round, details of colleges and courses etc. on the official website. The seat will be allocated on the basis of the merit, availability of seat, and preference of the candidate. Lastly, candidates who will be satisfied with the allotment will have to report at the allocated Institute/University. For more details on counselling, the candidates can click on the caption-head.
KEA will release the cutoff ranks officially for the participating colleges. The cutoff list helps in selecting the deserving candidates for allotting admission against these limited seats of the colleges. The cutoff ranks are compared against the ranks obtained by the candidates to decide who is to be selected for granting admission. Karnataka PGCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria
For Full Time MBA courses: A candidate must have passed Bachelor’s Degree (of a minimum duration of 3 years) examination or any equivalent examination and have scored an aggregate marks of 50% or more taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to the full time MBA courses. This is 45% of marks for candidates belonging to the reserved categories SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.
For Part Time MBA courses: A candidate who has passed his/her Bachelor’s Degree examination or any equivalent examination and has obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in all the subjects (including languages) in the three years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to the part time MBA courses.This should be 45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates.
Work experience is also required and hence, a candidate after obtaining the degree, must have worked for three years or more as on 31 July 2016, in any organization which is within a radial distance of 40 km from the educational institute in which the candidate seeks admission into the part time MBA program.
All the eligible and interested candidates must apply online for the test. The application form is not available in offline mode. But, before commencing with the form filling, the candidates must read the instructions given for filling the form. Also, they must ensure that the details filled in the application form should be correct. The first page of the form will require you to fill in personal, education, work experience, contact details and upload their scanned passport sized colored photograph and signature. Thereafter the candidates will be required to fill the course details and choose the test centers. Lastly, pay the application fee.
Karnataka PGCET 2016 Application Fee
The candidates belonging to the reserved categories will have to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee, whereas the candidates of unreserved categories will have to pay Rs. 650/-. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid against the e-challan generated while registering for the test. The fee will be deposited into any of the branch of specified Banks.
The Admit Card will only be issued to provisionally registered candidates. It will be available online from 22 June 2016. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Hall without producing the valid admit card of KPCET 2016, issued by the University. The candidates will be required to download the admit card online by logging into their individual account at the official website. The admit card must be retained by the candidates even after the conduct of the exam.
The exam will be held in pen-paper mode (OMR based). It will have a total of 100 objective type questions. Duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. The medium of the tests will be English only. Each question shall carry 1 mark, making the total to be 100. The questions will be asked from 4 sections, which are as follow –
- Section A – Proficiency in English Language
- Section B – General Knowledge
- Section C – Test of Reasoning and General Intelligence
- Section D – Quantitative Analysis
KEA has released the final answer key along with the result on 17 July 2016. It is available online on the official website of KEA for the candidates to download. Earlier on 6 July 2016, provisional answer key was released. In case, any errors were noticed in the provisional keys, the candidates were asked to send their objections till 11 July to KEA. Using the Karnataka PGCET Answer Key 2016, the candidates will be able to review their attempted answers and also draw an idea of the rank that they can obtain.
The result has been declared on 17 July 2016 around 6.00 PM. A provisional merit list has been released furnishing the score and MBA rank of the candidates. The result is available online on the official website of KEA. However, a link to check the result is available here also in this article. The University has declared and display the ranks of only those candidates who would have affixed their left hand thumb impression on the OMR answer sheets and only for these candidates the OMR sheets were scanned. No request for re-totaling or revaluation of the OMR answer sheets will be entertained. In order of merit, the candidates will then be called for participating in counselling.
