MAT 2017MAT 2017 – Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level management entrance exam conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT exam is conducted four times a year (February, May, September and December) and is held in online as well as offline mode. The The schedule of MAT 2017 September has been announced by AIMA. The application process will staart in the first week of July and will continue till the last week of August. MAT September 2017 will be held on September 3 (pen and paper mode) and September 9 (computer mode). The candidates can choose the mode in which they wish to appear for MAT exam in September 2017. MAT exam comprises of 5 sections and the total duration of the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes. MAT 2017 scores are accepted by several management institutes across the country. MAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

It is important to check the eligibility criteria before commencing with the registration. The aspirants interested in applying for the test must meet the following eligibility criteria.

  1. They must have a graduation degree passed in any discipline.
  2. The candidates pursuing their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
  3. There is no age limit prescribed.
  4. Work experience is also not necessarily required.

MAT Application Form 2017

The application process for MAT September 2017 will commence in the first week of July. The form will be available in both, online and offline mode. The last date to submit offline and online application form is August 23 and August 25 respectively.

  • The candidates registering online are required to create their student account by entering certain details, such as, Name, email ID, mobile number etc. and procuring the login credentials.
  • With the respective login credentials, the students should login to the student account and fill the MAT September Application Form 2017.
  • The last date to apply for MAT 2017 for September session is April 25, 2017.
  • The MAT application form can be purchased from listed study centre of AIMA or AIMA, Delhi office by paying the registration fee in cash.

MAT Application Fee 2017

To register for the test, all the applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The candidates can check the table below to know the amount of fee and for details of its payment.

MAT Syllabus 2017

Before applying for any exam, the candidates must ensure that they are familiar with its syllabus. If the candidates are familiar with the syllabus and the pattern then, preparing and cracking the exam becomes a lot easier. The syllabus for MAT is never released officially. However, on analysing the previous exam trends, the list of topics from which questions are asked in the test has been compiled. To check the syllabus for MAT September for all the 5 sections, the candidates can access the caption-head.   

MAT Exam Pattern 2017

MAT is held in both, pen-paper mode and computer mode. In the exam, total 200 objective-type questions will be asked from 5 sections. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. For more clarity on the test pattern, the candidates can check the table and can also access the caption-head for obtaining complete details about these 5 sections and more.

MAT Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is prescribed by AIMA and according to it,

  • For marking correct answer – 1 mark will be awarded
  • For marking incorrect answer – 0.25 or 1/4th mark will be deducted

MAT Admit Card 2017

MAT admit card for September 2017 will be made available to the candidates from August 26 onwards. The admit card will be issued to the eligible candidates who successfully register for the exam and submit the application fee. It must be noted that the admit card for MAT 2017 exam will only be released online and the candidates will be required to download and print the same. MAT admit card is an important piece of document that must be carried to examination centre by every candidate.

MAT Result 2017

The result of MAT 2017 May was declared on May 24, 2017. On the basis of MAT result, the candidates will be shortlisted for MBA programmes offered by several management institutes across the country. The result MAT 2017 for September session will be announced in the last week of Septembet 2017. The candidates can check the result online and download the scorecard that furnishes the sectional and overall score of the candidates. AIMA also sends the scorecards of the candidates by post.

MAT Cutoff 2017

With the announcement of the result, various management institutions accepting Management Aptitude Test scores will be releasing the MAT cutoff marks. The candidates must score the minimum score to get shortlisted for pre-admission processes. The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the Group Discussions and Personal Interview to get selected further in the admission process. However, the cutoff for MAT has been similar for various sessions.Thus, it is expected that the cutoff for September 2017 test will be similar to that of last few attempts of MAT.

MAT Participating Institutes 2017

For each session of the examination, the number of participating institutes varies. The list of Management Institutes accepting the MAT September 2017 score will be released by AIMA in the first week of July 2017. With the announcement of the result, these B-Schools will be issuing their cutoff scores. On the registration form, the candidates are required to enter the list of top 5 Institutes where they want to send their MAT scores.

MAT Selection Procedure 2017

The candidates scoring the required cutoff will be eligible to appear for the pre-admission processes of the Participating Institutes. The candidates must note that the selection procedure will vary with the Institutes. However, most Management Institutions will conduct Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). The WAT is one of the important rounds where the candidate’s thought process and written ability is tested.

    • Hi Vipul,

      WAT means Written Ability Test, where a candidate is asked to write few words on a given topic. Also, you are supposed to clear every round in order to get selected. So, if one fails in the GD round and passes WAT, he/she won’t be selected for admission and vice-versa. Hope this clears your doubt.

      No, with MAT 2016 September score you will be eligible to take admission next year. Your academic session will be 2017-19.

    • Hi

      MAT is held 4 times in a year. Once in February, then May, then September and lastly December. Since you are in your 3rd year of graduation, you can take up MAT in any of these months. But we would suggest you to take it either in February or May 2017 as by June, your result will be out. So, with graduation and MAT score, you can apply to B-Schools.

    I’m surya sir if in case mat exams cannot be cleared will I eligible to get admitted???, and should pass all interview (personal interview, group discussion and WAT )??? To get admitted for MBA??

    • Hi Surya,

      You must score the minimum cutoff scores of the Institutes accepting MAT scores to get admitted into their MBA programmes.

    I cleared my Dec MAT 2016 with 72.04 percentile. But I wish to give MAT 2017 to be held in February in hope of better score. So after my Feb 2017 MAT result, my Dec 2016 MAT result would be valid?

    Please reply asap.
