MAT 2017 – The All India Management Association (AIMA) has issued the application form for Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for the February 2017 session. The registration process commenced from December 12, and the last date to submit the application form is January 27, 2017. Thus, to avoid any last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply much before the last date. The test will be held on February 05, in paper-based mode and again on February 11, 2017, in a Computer-base mode. The test will be held for admission into the management programme of more than 300 Institutes. The MBA aspirants can apply for the test from this article. It is important to check the eligibility criteria before commencing with the registration. The aspirants interested in applying for the test must meet the following eligibility criteria.
- They must have a graduation degree passed in any discipline.
- The candidates pursuing their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
- There is no age limit prescribed.
- Work experience is also not necessarily required.
MAT Application Fee 2017
To register for the test, all the applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The candidates can check the table below to know the amount of fee and for details of it payment.

The application process for MAT February has commenced. The form was available in both, online and offline mode. The steps provided below furnishes the application process for MAT February 2017.
- The candidates registering online are required to create their student account by entering certain details, such as, Name, email ID, mobile number etc. and procuring the login credentials.
- With the respective login credentials then, the students should login to the student account and fill the MAT February Application Form 2016.
- The last date to apply for MAT offline based test is January 27, 2017.
- The last date to apply for MAT online based test is January 27, 2017.
- The MAT application form can be purchased from listed study centre of AIMA or AIMA, Delhi office by paying the registration fee in cash.
For each examination, the number of participating institutes varies. This year, a total of 303 Management Institutes will be accepting the MAT February 2017 score. With the announcement of the result, these B-Schools will be issuing their cutoff scores. On the registration form, the candidates are required to enter the list of top 5 Institutes where they want to send their MAT scores.
MAT Marking Scheme
The marking scheme is prescribed by AIMA and according to it,
- For marking correct answer – 1 mark will be awarded
- For marking incorrect answer – 0.25 or 1/4th mark will be deducted
Before applying for any exam, the candidates must ensure that they are familiar with its syllabus. If the candidates are familiar with the syllabus and the pattern then, preparing and cracking the exam becomes a lot easier. The syllabus for MAT is never released officially. However, on analyzing the previous exam trends, the list of topics from which questions are asked in the test has been compiled. To check the syllabus for MAT February for all the 5 sections, the candidates can access the caption-head.
MAT is held in both, pen-paper mode and computer mode. In the exam, total 200 objective-type questions will be asked from 5 sections. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. For more clarity on the test pattern, the candidates can check the table and can also access the caption-head for obtaining complete details about these 5 sections and more.

The MAT admit card has been issued and the candidates can access the same by clicking on the sub-heading above. Separate hall tickets was issued for the offline and online mode of test. Only the duly registered candidates will be able to download their admit card. This hall ticket is an important document and the candidates must carry the same to the exam hall. Candidates failing to produce the admit card to the invigilator in the exam hall will not be allowed to write the exam. Details of the candidate, venue of the test, exam timings, exam details, etc. will be furnished in the admit card. Also, the candidates must make sure that all the details furnished by the admit card are error free. In the case of any error, the candidates must contact the exam officials.
The result for the December 2016 session has been announced on December 23, 2016. The MAT December 2016 Result can be checked by entering MAT December Roll Number, MAT December Form Number, Month and Year of the test. The Result of MAT 2016 December Session has been made available online. However, AIMA will also send the scorecards of the candidates by post. The scorecard will furnish the sectional score of the candidates. The MAT score will remain valid for a session only but few institutes will consider the score for a period of one year.

With the release of result, the various management institutions accepting Management Aptitude Test scores will be releasing the Cutoff marks. The candidates must score the minimum score to get shortlisted for pre-admission processes. The shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the Group Discussions and Personal Interview to get selected further in the admission process. However, the cutoff for MAT has been similar for various sessions. Thus, it is expected that the Cutoff for December 2016 test will be similar to that of last years.
The candidates scoring the required cutoff will be eligible to appear for the pre-admission processes of the Participating Institutes. The candidates must note that the selection procedure will vary with the Institutes. However, most Management Institutions will conduct Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT). The WAT is one of the important rounds where the candidate’s thought process and written ability is tested.
