The XAT score card and cutoff percentile have been announced and the candidates scoring the required cutoff marks will be able to participate in the XAT selection processes of the institutes. The institute will have their own XAT 2017 selection procedure and will vary from each other. The selection procedure of the various XAT member & participating institutes will challenge the candidates on various fronts apart from the academic ability. The XAT 2017 result has been announced along with the XLRI cutoff scores of the various programmes. The test was held on January 08, 2017, and around 90,000 management aspirants appeared. XAT Selection Procedure 2017 – Various Stages

The MBA aspirants can apply for multiple programmes of the Institutes. However, the candidates who can apply for more than one programme can be called for multiple Group Discussions and Personal Interview. Also, the candidates must note that the selection procedure of XAT may vary with the programmes. The XAT 2017 selection procedure can be categorized into three stages. The candidates are required to appear for XAT, conducted by XLRI. Based on the performance in XAT 2017, the candidates will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Essay Writing rounds. The final selection will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in the XAT along with relevant work experience, academic profile, etc.

Stage 1 – XAT Selection Procedure 2017

First, XLRI conducts Xavier Aptitude Test, and on the basis of the XAT score, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next selection round. The test will be divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2. Most of the Institutes will consider only the scores of XAT Paper 1 to shortlist candidates into the pre-admission process i.e. the XAT selection procedure stage 2. In the first paper, the candidates are required to appear for questions on Verbal Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude. In the Paper 2, there will be questions on General Knowledge and Essay Writing.

Stage 2 – XAT Selection Procedure 2017

The 2nd round of selection process will vary with the Institutes and programmes. After the announcement of the XAT result, various Institutes will announce their cutoff scores. Based on these XAT 2017 Cutoff scores, the candidates will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds and Essay Writing.

Stage 3 – XAT Selection Procedure 2017

The 3rd stage is the final selection round. The candidate’s overall performance i.e. the XAT score 2017, performance in GD, PI and Written Ability Test, past academic record and work experience will be considered for final selection. The selected candidates are required to visit the Institute and continue with the remaining admission process to confirm a seat.

Programmes offered by XLRI

The various management programmes offered by XLRI are –

  • Postgraduate programme in Business Management (BM).
  • Postgraduate programme in Human Resource Management (HRM).
  • Postgraduate programme in General Management Programme (GMP).

XAT 2017 Cutoff

The cutoff marks of XAT 2017 are the minimum marks that the candidates must score in order to be eligible for the pre-admission rounds. XLRI has announced the cutoff scores of the various management programmes for XAT 2017. The candidates scoring the cutoff marks will be shortlisted for the pre-admission rounds. The other participating institutes will soon announce their cutoff scores. It is expected that the cutoff scores will remain similar to that of the previous years.
