IBPS PO 2016: The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the scores of the candidates selected for the interview round for the post of Probationary Officers/Management Trainee (PO/MT). Candidates can check their scores till March 31, 2017. The IBPS PO 2017 interview was held in February 2017 for those candidates who had qualified the main examination. The institute will declare the final IBPS PO 2017 result and final allotment list in March/April 2017. Candidates will be provisionally allotted to one of the participating organizations based on merit-cum-preference. In case two or more candidates have obtained the same score, IBPS will decide the merit order as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice. The weightage of main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the mains exam and interview. Final allotment of candidates will be done on the basis of ranks, post-preferences, and vacancies. What is IBPS PO 2016 exam?
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Common Recruitment Process for selection of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee in the public sector banks and other participating institutes. The exam is held in two phases – Preliminary and Main Examination. Successful candidates will be allotted a bank provisional on the basis of the preference registered by them while registering online. However, the allotment of the offer will be in accordance with the number of vacancies to be notified in the participating institutions viz bank, financial institutions etc.

- The lower and upper age limit for applying is 20 years and 30 years as on 01 July 2016. The upper age limit shall be relaxed to a certain limit for the reserve category applicants.
The Application process for IBPS PO 2016 has concluded. Only online Applications were accepted for IBPS PO exam. Application Form submitted through any other mode were not accepted.
The Admit Card of IBPS PO 2016 for Interview has been issued on January 17, 2017. Candidates can download their IBPS PO Admit Card 2016 by entering Roll No/Registration No and Date of Birth/Password. The Institute will not send the Admit Card by post.
The pattern of the IBPS PO 2016 examination has been revised last year i.e. in 2015. The exam is now conducted in two phases i.e. Prelims and Main. Now, the candidate has to appear in two exams overall. However, the candidate will only go further after qualifying the Prelims which is the first phase of the whole recruitment process.
The IBPS PO main examination will comprise of 200 questions based on reasoning, english language, quantitative aptitude, general awareness (with special reference to banking) and computer knowledge. It will carry a total of 200 marks and will be held for a duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Approximately 2 to 3 lakh candidates who have cleared the Preliminary Examination will sit for the Mains Examination. IBPS will declare the result of the Mains Examination in December 2016.

IBPS declares the result in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview. Candidates qualifying the Prelims Exam has been called for the Mains Exam. Those who have qualified the Mains Examination has been shortlisted for the Interview. On the basis of Mains and Interview marks, candidates scoring high in the merit list will be provided allotment on merit-cum-preference basis. The scores of the candidates who have appeared in the Mains Examination of IBPS PO has been made available. However, the scores of the candidates who have been shortlisted for the Interview will be shared after the recruitment process is over. The Institution has released the registration number wise list of candidates shortlisted for the Interview.
The IBPS PO 2016 cutoff is referred to the minimum score to be secured in order to qualify an exam. It is important to note that there is sectional cutoff as well as the overall cutoff in both the Prelims and Main. The cutoff is inversely proportionate to the difficulty level of the exam. Moreover, the cutoff also depends on a lot of other factors such as the number of candidates, number of vacancies etc. The cutoff is published within 10 days of the announcement of the result status of the candidates.
The last stage in the IBPS PO selection process is Personal Interview in which candidate is required to appear before the Interview Panel. The Interview will be conducted in February 2017. It is basically conducted to judge the general knowledge and the attitude of the candidates. The panel intends to judge the judge the suitability of the candidate in conformance to the banking environment. The interviews are held at selected Centres. It is conducted by Participating bank and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
IBPS has pre-defined total four selection stages for recruitment to the post of PO/MT. A candidate has to qualify at par in all the stages as follows:

- Document Verification
- Personal Interview
Point to Note: The Preliminary Exam is qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in the prelims will not be accounted in the preparation of the final merit list.
