Jammu and Kashmir KASJammu and Kashmir KAS 2016: The preliminary examination of Jammu and Kashmir KAS was held on March 19, 2017 at 6 examination centres across the state. Approximate 47000 candidates appeared for the Jammu and Kashmir KAS 2016 exam. The result of the preliminary exam is expected to be announced by 2nd week of April 2017. The candidates who qualify the preliminary exam of KAS 2016 will be eligible to sit for the mains examination. The commission will announce the dates for the mains exam of Jammu and Kashmir KAS 2016 after the declaration of preliminary exam result. Salient Features of the Examination

  • The Exam is conducted in two stages, Preliminary and Mains Exam
  • The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test for candidates.
  • The Marks scored in the Preliminary exam will declare which candidates are qualified for the Mains exam.
  • There will be Total of 8 Papers in Jammu and Kashmir KAS, Paper 1 will be for General English, Paper 2 will be for English Essay, Paper 3 for General Studies and Paper V, VI, VII, and VIII for any two additional subjects chosen by the candidates.
  • There will be different marks for different papers. Candidates will have to qualify each paper separately to move to the next level.

Jammu and Kashmir KAS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

All the candidates who are interested to apply for J&K KAS should fulfill the following eligibility criteria before applying.

Nationality: Candidates who are permanent of Jammu and Kashmir State are Eligible to Apply.

Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 to 35 years as on 01.01.2016

Educational Qualification: All the candidates who wish to apply must hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university in India or from a foreign University declared by government in consultation with the commission to be equivalent to a degree of a recognized university.

  • The candidates who are interested to apply will have to check that they fulfill all the required by the candidates before filling the application form.
  • The candidates can apply through the direct link which will be provided on our website to apply online.
  • Candidates will have to pay the Examination fees as per the category they belong to.
  • Candidates need to ensure that before they apply online they have the scanned passport size photo in the desired size and format.
  • Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the Scanned Photograph (passport size not more than 10kb) JPEG format, along with a scanned image of the signature not more than 20 kb.
  • Payment of Examination Fee can be made at Jammu and Kashmir Bank (any branch) by System generated Bank e-Challan which is a must for depositing the fee. Once the requisite fee is paid, the Bank will provide a Journal Number in the Bank e-Challan and will return candidate’s copy of the same. The candidate should ensure that J&K Branch Code, Journal Number along with Branch Seal is inserted properly on the Candidate’s copy of the Bank e-Challan. The candidates are advised to preserve the aforesaid payment challan with them for future reference.
  • The candidates should fill the Application Form correctly. No correction will be entertained after submission of the application form.
  • After successful submission & confirmation, the candidate should take printout of filled online Application Form.

Jammu and Kashmir KAS Application Fees 2016

All the candidates have to pay the application fess to seal their applications. Application forms submitted without the application fees will not be accepted. Candidates can pay the application fees till December 15, 2016. The amount of application fees is provided in a tabular form below.

Jammu and Kashmir KAS 2016 Exam Cities

  • J&K KAS Will be conducted in two stages, the preliminary exam and the mains exam. The Examinations will be held at different centers located Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Jammu, Kargil, Leh, Rajouri and Srinagar Districts.

Jammu and Kashmir KAS Admit Card 2016

The Commission has released the Jammu and Kashmir KAS Admit Card on March 8, 2017. All the candidates who applied for the combined competitive examination of Jammu and Kashmir had  to ensure that they fulfil the required eligibility criteria. All the eligible candidates will appear for a preliminary examination qualifying which they have to appear for the mains exam. The preliminary exam is scheduled to be conducted on March 19, 2017.  Candidates can check the steps to download the Admit card as given below.

The Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination will be conducted in two stages, first is the preliminary examination followed by the mains exam. The Exam patterns for both are as given below.
