About the AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2017

The All India Bar Examination will be held in an offline mode and the qualifying candidates will be awarded the Certificate of Practice. Once the candidates are awarded the Certificate of Practice, they will be eligible to exercise their legal profession. The AIBE Eligibility norms are the required academic and other conditions that the candidates must fulfill. Check the table below to understand the AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2017 better –

  • The candidates must have an LLB degree from any Institute recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • The candidates completing their LLB degree from 2009-10 onwards are eligible to apply.
  • There is no minimum percentage requirement for the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates must be enrolled as an advocate with a State Bar Council.
  • The candidates must have an Advocate Admit Card/Enrollment Card issued by the State Bar Council.
  • The candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates applying under the reserved category are required to upload their respective certificates.

Important Points regarding the AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2017

Some important points regarding the eligibility norms for AIBE X that the candidates must keep in mind while applying for the test are –

  • These eligibility norms are decided by the Bar Council of India, therefore the candidates must meet them without any fail.
  • The candidates failing to meet any of the eligibility norms are advised not to apply.
  • Failing to meet any of the norms may lead to the cancellation of the candidature.
  • The application fee for AIBE 2017 is non-refundable.

The test is held for granting the Certificate of Practice to the qualifying candidates and these candidates will be eligible to exercise their legal practice in India. The test will be held in an offline format around the 1st week of March 2017.
