AIIMS MBBS 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Below is the pre-requisite need to be fulfilled by the National, OBC, SC/ST, OPH and overseas candidates respectively to apply for the AIIMS MBBS 2017.

National candidates

Below is the AIIMS MBBS 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Indian national candidates

  • The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission (2017)
  • The candidate must have passed qualifying examination (10+2) from CBSE/ISc or an equivalent examination from the recognised State/Board/University
  • The candidate must have passed their (10+2) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • The candidate must have secured for 60% (For the general category) in the qualifying exam.
  • Also, if the institute have to accept any other examination as qualifying exam, the candidate need to produce the document certifying that the exam is equivalent to the qualifying examination

Note: It is mandatory for all the candidates to produce the documentary evidence validating the fact that they have passed the aforesaid examination with the specified marks.

OBC Candidates

  • The OBC candidates will get the reservation as per the norms of the government of India
  • The candidates belonging to the OBC category (Non-creamy layer) must possess 60% in their qualifying examination

SC/ST Candidates

  • The candidates need to possess 50% marks in their qualifying examination
  • Apart from this, this must be noted that the candidate has to produce the certificate validating the caste in the Performa prescribed by the official authority.

OPH Candidates

  • The candidates need to possess 50% marks in their qualifying examination
  • The candidates with disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% shall be considered and in no candidates are available in the category then the candidates with disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% will also be considered.
  • The candidates will have to produce the document certifying the Physical disability from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the State or Central Govt. Hospitals/Institutions.

Overseas Citizen of India

The overseas citizen of the India is also eligible to apply for the AIIMS MBBS 2017. The pre-requisites mentioned for the Indian category candidates will be applicable to the overseas candidates as well. The candidate will need to submit proof of Registration as OCI under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955.

Foreign Nationals (Applicable to AIIMS, New Delhi)

Foreign national candidates nominated by the Government of the India are eligible for the admission. These candidates do not need to take the entrance examination. The candidates belonging to this category must possess minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination.

AIIMS MBBS 2017 Ineligibility

If the candidate is born on or after January 2nd, 2000, he/she will not be eligible to apply for the AIIMS MBBS 2017.
