DU MBBS Admission 2017DU MBBS Admission 2017 is expected to commence in the month of July, 2017. The Faculty of Medical Science will hold the counselling to provide admission into 3 Medical colleges and 1 Dental college affiliated to the Delhi University. There will not be any entrance examination for the DU MBBS as the admission will be offered on the basis of NEET 2017 scores. The application form for the DU MBBS 2017 Admission will tentatively be announced in the first week of July, 2017. In total, there are 600 MBBS and 40 BDS seats under FMS. It must be noted that FMS will offer the admission on 85% state quota seats on the basis of the NEET 2017. The All India Quota of 15% of the seats will be through the centralized NEET 2017 Counselling.

Note: 130 seats in LHMC are recognised by the Medical Council of India while the rest of the 70 seats are permitted by MOHFW.


Eligibility Criteria of DU MBBS Admission 2017

Nationality The candidates should be Indian
Age The candidates must have attained the 17 by December 31, 2017. The upper age limit is 25 years. For SC/ST/OBC category, there is relaxation of 5 years.
Board The candidate must have passed 10+2 from the C.B.S.E/ Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination/ Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi from one of the schools situated within New Delhi.
Subjects covered The applicant should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English in 10+2
Qualifying marks in 10+2 50% for General candidates 40% for SC/ST/OBC in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English altogether and individually in each subject. For candidates with locomotors disability of lower limbs in General PWD, the pass percentage is 45% For SC-PWD/ST-PWD/OBC-PWD, it is 40%.
Candidates whose Results are yet to be declared The candidate who appeared in the qualifying examination but the result is yet to be declared can apply, provided; the candidate fulfils all the eligibility criteria after the announcement of the result

  • The candidates who are yet to give supplementary exam

Application Procedure for the DU MBBS Admission 2017

The candidates must note that information brochure of DU MBBS Admission 2017 will contain the application form as well. The cost of the application form along with brochure is Rs.750 and 550 for General/OBC and SC/ST//PH candidates respectively. Below is the application procedure for the DU MBBS Admission 2017.

  • The application form will be available in the offline mode. Also, it can be downloaded also
  • It is advised to the candidates to go through the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.It is compulsory for the candidate to fill the application form in his/her own handwriting in the capital letters.
  • The candidates need to provide following information:-

The applicant and the guardian need to sign the application form at the designated place.
The candidates also need to attach the certificate from the principal of the last attended          school.

  • If it is found that the candidate has provided false information in the application the candidature will be cancelled and the admission fee deposited will be forfeited.
  • Once fee for the application form is paid, it will not be refunded in any case.
  • The DU MBBS 2017 application form should be filled with utmost care. In case there is overlapping, cutting, erasing, it will be rejected.
  • Also, the incomplete application form will be rejected. After submitting the form at faculty office, no alteration can be made.
  • The candidates need to send the DU MBBS 2017 Application via speed post on following address:- Joint Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V.P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110007.
  • After the last date of form submission, no application form will be accepted

Documents required to be submitted along with the DU MBBS 2017 Application Form

Self-attested copies of the documents listed below required to be attached with the DU MBBS 2017 Application Form

  • NEET 2017 Examination Roll No. and Admit Card.
  • NEET 2017 Result (Score Card)
  • Matriculation or equivalent certificate reflecting the date of birth.
  • 12th Class Examination passing certificate along with the statement of marks.
  • Certificate from the Principal of the School on prescribed Performa Form stating following points: The school is situated within National Capital Territory of Delhi, It is recognized by the CBSE/Council for the Indian School Certificate/ Jamia Milia Islamia, The school is conducting regular classes.The candidate has regularly attended the classes in the school for class 11th & 12th
  • Character Certificate in Performa as prescribed by CBSE, issued by the Principal of the school last attended or from any Gazetted Officer.
  • Two copies of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe certificate as per the format, (if applicable)
  • Father’s SC/ST Certificate, (if applicable)
  • The certificate for the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) as per the prescribed format, (if applicable)
  • Entitlement Certificate for C.W. category as per the Performa, (if applicable)
  • Two copies of OBC Certificate as per the Performa, (if applicable)
  • Non-creamy layer certificate and OBC caste certificate as per the Central list for OBC

DU MBBS 2017 Merit List

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will prepare the All India Rank list and based on it the FMS will prepare the state quota merit list.
  • Firstly, DU MBBS provisional merit list will be announced.
  • The qualified candidates may take the steps to remove the discrepancy in the merit list, if any.
  • After this, the final DU MBBS 2017 Merit list will be announced.

Tie break for DU MBBS 2017 Merit list

When the marks of two or more than two candidates are equal, the tie break procedure is adopted to allocate the merit position. Below is the measures adopted for the tie break

  • The candidate who secured higher marks in Biology/biotechnology will be allocated better rank
  • After this, the marks in Chemistry will be considered; the candidate with better marks in the subject will be allocated better rank.
  • In case, both the above measures do not break the tie, the candidate older in age will be given preference.

Details regarding the physically handicapped candidates

  • The candidates of the Physically Handicapped category will have to provide certificate from Medical Board of a District/Government Hospital set up for examining the physically challenged candidates. The certificate should mention the extent of permanent physical disability percentage along with the sign of the one Doctor constituting the Board issuing the certificate.
  • The physical disability certificate issued by the competent authority will be considered valid.
  • The person with physical disability will have not to pay the examination and other University fees. Such candidates will only have to pay the admission fee, subscription towards Delhi union students, and identity card.

DU MBBS 2017 Counselling

Following are the steps of DU MBBS 2017 Counselling.

  • The counselling will be held as per the order of the DU MBBS 2017 Merit list category wise.
  • Counselling venue will be notified later by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Directorate of General Health Services (DGHS), and New Delhi.
  • The batch of 10 candidates will be called at a time
  • Out of the available choices, the candidates will be entitled to make only one choice.
  • The counselling procedure of a particular day will end as soon as the batch called have been counselled or 2:30 whichever is later.
  • The candidate who is provisionally admitted into the course will have to appear in front of the medical board, if the candidate is found unfit, the admission will be cancelled.
  • The candidates who were present at the time of the counselling but did not opt the seat due to allocation of all the seats will be included in the waiting list.
  • Late Comers will be charged Rs.500 for attending the counselling.
  • In case, the applicant is not in situation to attend the counselling, the representative can attend the counselling along with authorisation letter and other necessary documents.
  • The candidates will be provided the admission letter after the DU MBBS 2017 Counselling and they have to report at the allocated institute on the specified date and time to complete the admission formalities.

Note: The candidate will have to produce all the original certificates that are attached with the DU MBBS 2017 Application Form with the score card of NEET 2017 and 2 passport size photograph at the time of counselling for MBBS and BDS.
