Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the Pondicherry MBBS Admission 2017 need to fulfill the conditions given below

  • The applicant must be an Indian national. However, the candidate of French national living in union territory of Pondicherry covered by the treaty of cession will also be eligible.
  • The candidate should be at least 17 years old at the time of the admission. There is no upper age limit.
  • The candidate must be a registered candidate of the Pondicherry.
  • The candidate should have passed the 10+2 from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent exam.
  • The applicant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2.
  • The applicant must have secured 50% marks in 10+2. In case of the OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC category , it is 40%.
  • The candidate will have to appear in NEET 2017 to apply for one of the medical or dental colleges of the Pondicherry, this is why it is mandatory to fulfil the NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Application Procedure

The application form of the Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Admission will be available in the online mode and also it can be downloaded. The link to download the application form will be uploaded here after it will be announced. Below are the steps to followed while filling the Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Application Form

  • The applicant will need to provide the personal, academic, personal information in the registration form, also it is mandatory to provide the mobile number.
  • The applicant will need to upload their scanned images of the coloured photograph in the application form.
  • The image of the photograph should be between 20 to 25 KB in JPG format only.
  • The candidates will have to send the print out of the online entry with the necessary self attested documents and receipt of the paid application fee.
  • The print out of the online application form will have to be sent by the post/courier or can be sent in person to “The Convenor” CENTAC office PEC Campus, Pillaichavady, Puducherry – 605 014 along with the online payment receipt.
  • The application fee is for one course is Rs.500 (for general) and Rs. 250 (for sc/bt) for two courses Rs.750 (for sc/bt Rs. 375) and Rs.1000 for three course ( for SC/BT Rs. 500)
  • The documents to be attached with the application form can be strangled with the Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Application Form.
  • The application fee can be paid via online mode only i.e. Credit/Debit Card/NEFT
  • The candidates who appeared in 10+2 will need to send their mark sheet after the seven days of the declaration of the result. The application number should be written on the right side of the self attested copy of the marksheet.
  • The candidates sending more than two application form will have to submit the respective application form.
  • Incomplete or defective application form will be rejected and will not be considered.
  • The applicant have to appear for NEET 2017, they will have to fill and submit the NEET 2017 Application Form

Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Merit list

  • CENTAC will prepare the merit list of the Pondicherry MBBS 2017 out of the NEET 2017 Merit list.
  • The candidates will have to qualify the NEET 2017 in order to make a place in the Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Merit list. The candidates can check the NEET 2017 qualifying percentile
  • Based on the merit position and options exercised by the candidate the seat will be allocated to the candidate.

Tie break Procedure

Following measures will be adopted if the percentile of two or more than two candidates are equal

  • The candidate having better marks in the Biology will be given preference.
  • The percentage of the Physics will be considered after this.
  • The percentage of the Chemistry will be considered after taking both the above measures.
  • The candidate with the higher total marks in all the subjects will be given preference.
  • If after applying all the above measures the tie does not break, the candidate born earlier will be allocated better rank.
  • At the end, the random rank will be assigned

Pondicherry MBBS 2017 Counselling

The counselling will be held in the offline mode at Office of the CENTAC, Chemical Engineering block, Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC), Pillaichavady, Puducherry – 605 014. below are the steps to be followed in the counselling procedure

  • The public notification in the local newspaper regarding the counselling will be made or the call letters will be sent to the selected candidates.
  • One legal guardian/parent have to be compulsorily present with the candidate at the time of the counselling.
  • At the time of the counselling, the document verification of the candidates will be done first. All the candidates will have to be present along with all the original certificates.
  • The candidate will have to pay Rs. 850 as the counselling fee and Rs. 350 (for SC/BT). If the candidate is selected they can claim the forefit counselling fee. However, to participate in the subsequent round of the counselling a non refundable fee of Rs.750 will be charge and it will not be refunded whether the seat is allocated to the candidate or not.
  • The counselling fee should be in the form of the demad draft in favour of “The Convenor, CENTAC”, payable at Puducherry.
  • If the candidate will not be present at the specified date and time for the counselling, the claim for seat will be cancelled. However, if due to any unforseen circumstances the candidate is unable to attend the counselling, they may inform the CENTAC committee timely and can attend the counselling.
  • For the unfilled seats the candidates will not sent individually, these seats will be open for all the category candidates.
  • The candidates who fail to join the college as per the seats alloted in the first round of the counselling will not be considered for the second round of the counselling.
  • The admission into the All India Quota seats will be through NEET 2017 Counselling
