NEET PG 2017 was held in the month of December and after that lot of controversies are being associated with the counselling process of post graduation single window medical entrance exam. Previously, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, sent a circular to principal secretaries of medical education asking to conduct the combined counselling for the admission into the post graduate medical and dental courses. On Wednesday, the State Government conducted a meeting with the representatives of medical and dental college management associations.
Deemed University do not want the joint counselling for NEET PG as per management it will dilute the autonomy of deemed University as said by one of the representative of deemed University. “Following common counselling will take away the autonomy of deemed universities and all deemed universities fall under the University Grants Commission … we have so far not received any instructions from them except stating that all admissions will be made using NEET scores,”
On the other hand minority colleges are willing to participate in the common counselling providing the condition if State Government agrees for 100 percent hike in fee.
As per the Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash Patil, the meeting was the preliminary effort to push common counselling for NEET PG, nothing concrete has been decided, “College managements too told us it was too early to comment on the issue,” Mr. Patil said.
NEET PG 2017 Result will be declared on Jan 15, 2017, the counselling schedule have not been announced yet and due to the continuous controversies associated with it, the candidates are in state of dilemma.
