AP ICET Result AP ICET Result 2018: The result of AP ICET will be declared by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in May. APICET result will be available online and candidates have to enter their registration number and date of birth to the check the same. AP ICET result will be announced for all candidates appearing for the exam. However, only those securing qualifying marks will be considered for the rank list. The minimum qualifying marks for reserved category is 25% while there is no qualifying score for SC and ST candidates. As the exam is conducted in two sessions, the scores of candidates is normalized to adjust the difficulty level of the question papers across shifts. How to check AP ICET result 2018?

Candidates have to check AP ICET online as the examination authority will not sent the same through mail or post. The result will display the qualifying status of candidates. The steps to check AP ICET result is given below.

AP ICET Result 2018 – Normalisation Procedure

The examination authority will adopt the normalisation procedure to calculate the scores of candidates. Based on the normalised marks, AP ICET result will be declared. Normalisation is used to eliminate variation in the difficulty levels since the exam is conducted in two sessions. The normalisation process is based on a formula recommended by experts and ranks candidates across all the sections on a comparative sclae. In the normalisation process, the marks of the easier section is reduced marginally and marks of the tough paper is increased marginally depending on the average performance in each sessions. If there is no much difference in the averages between two sessions then there will not be much variations in the normalized marks. The formula is given below.
 
Normalisation of marks:
 
GMS + (Top average global – GMS)/Top average session-GMS) x (marks obtained of the candidate - SMS)
 
Interpretation:
SMS:(Average + Standard Deviation) of the session in which the candidate
belongs to
GMS:(Average + Standard Deviation) of all the candidates across all sessions together
Top Average Session: Average marks of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the session in which the candidate belongs to
Top Average Global: Average marks of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all sessions together
 
“For the candidates for whom there is no qualifying cut off, the mark after normalisation go below zero, total marks will be treated as zero. Ranks will be assigned based on those marks. If Tie persists, then AP ICET normalisation will be considered.”
 

AP ICET result 2017 – Rank/Merit list & Scorecard

AP ICET rank list will be released after the declaration of result. Candidates can download the rank list by entering ICET hall ticket number, registration number and date of birth. The rank card will have candidates name, hall ticket number, marks obtained in each section, overall marks and rank of candidate. Those securing 25% qualifying marks in AP ICET that is 50 out of 200 for reserved category will be considered for the rank list. No minimum qualifying marks have been prescribed for SC and ST candidates. These candidates will be assigned ranks in the order of merit based on ICET marks.
 

AP ICET result 2017: Tie Breaking Policy

For the preparation of merit list, the following policy is adapted to break the ties if more than one student secures the same marks.
  • Considering the marks scored in Section-A
  • If the tie exists, marks obtained by a student in Section-B will be taken into consideration
  • If the tie still persists, the tie will be resolved by taking into account age
  • of the candidate, older ones will be given priority.

What after declaration of AP ICET result?

Candidates qualifying AP ICET 2018 will be called to participate in counseling. AP ICET counselling is conducted to allot seats to candidates in the colleges and universities of Andhra Pradesh. Based on ranks in merit list, candidates will be called for counselling. The stages of counselling are given below.

  • Obtain manual option form and fill it
  • Access and fill in the online option form with the help of the manual form.
  • Allotment of seats
  • Payment of the fee, reporting at the college and participating in the pre-admission processes.

AP ICET result 2018 Cutoff

AP ICET cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks to be scored by candidates to be eligible for counselling rounds. The cutoff will be released after the declaration of result. AP ICET cutoff will be available in the form of opening and closing rank. AP ICET cutoff will depend on total number of candidates, availability of seats and difficulty level of the exam.
