CAT 2016 Toppers, Know their storiesAfter much chaos and confusions, the CAT Result 2016 has been finally announced. Since yesterday, there was a non-stop search for the CAT 2016 result, thus, the adrenaline rush of the aspirants hitting the roof several times. According to many reputed newspapers, 20 candidates from an engineering background have scored 100 percentile in CAT 2016, and all of them are male. This article provides the list of CAT 2016 toppers that aced the tests. CAT is considered to be one of the toughest and most reputed management entrance test. 1. Yash Choudhari, 100 percentile, Kolhapur

This guy just nailed the exam by scoring a 100 percentile in CAT 2016. Yash is a 4th-year student from College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP). He hails from Kolhapur and completed his school education up to Class 12. He started preparing for the test from 7 – 8 months before the exam and was expecting anything above 99.99 percentile.

This year, Quantitative Section of CAT 2016 was the toughest, but for Yash, Quant was his strongest point and even in the mock tests, he scored well on the Quantitative section. The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension was his weakest area.

The CAT 2016 Percentile (section-wise) of Yash Choudhari – VA: 99.9, DILR: 99.86, QA: 99.96.

2. Akshay Mehndiratta, 100 percentile, IIT Delhi

Akshay Mehndiratta, a student of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, is the another 100 percentile in CAT 2016. He attempted CAT 2015 and scored 99.34, but for CAT 2016 he kept his strategy simple i.e. study on Sunday and take the tests on Sunday. Thus, this simple strategy helped him to grab 100 percentile in CAT 2016.

For Akshay, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension was his weak point, therefore, he gave more importance to this section. To keep a track of his performance, he appeared for 12 – 13 mock tests and his performance scores were around 99.99 percentile. At present, he is working with a company in Gurugram and is in the hope to get an interview call from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta.

3. Avidipto Chakraborty, Kolkata, 100 percentile

As mentioned above, there are 20 candidates who have scored 100 percentile and Avidipto Chakraborty from Kolkata is one of them. With a percentile of 100 in VARC, 99.96 in DILR and 99.98 in QA, Avidipto is just a step away from the gateways of the IIMs. To achieve this position, he started the preparation 4 months earlier from the test and wrote 86 mock tests.

Avidipto is a final year student of a dual degree course in Economics and Computer Science at BITS Pilani, Goa. Currently, he is an intern in Nomura in Powai, Mumbai.

With 100 percentile in CAT 2016, he is expecting a call from IIM Ahmedabad.

4. Nilanjan Dutta, Kolkata, 100 percentile

For the first time when Nilanjan appeared for CAT in 2011, he scored 99.43 overall percentile. Dutta is an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur and right now he is working for Cognizant as a Business Consultant. Right now, there are no plans for Nilanjan to apply for any IIM since he is very content with his job. Also, he freelances as a mentor for students appearing for CAT.

His CAT 2016 score: VARC – 97.21, DILR – 100, and QA – 99.90.

5. Antriksh Johri, Chemical Engineering student, IIT Delhi, 99.96 percentile

Currently, Antriksh is pursuing Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi. Quantitative Ability was his strongest part and he prefers to pursue MBA specialised in Finance.

Antriksh is a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar and loves playing cricket. His favorite author is Dan Brown.

6. Sandeep Patra, 99.60 percentile in CAT 2016

Sandeep Patra is currently working as an Assistant Manager at Coal India Limited and lives in Odisha. In CAT 2016, his area of strength is Quantitative Ability and he prefers to do MBA in Finance.

He is a big fan of Dhoni and loves playing chess and Badminton. Shawshank Redemption is his favorite movie.

7. Piyush Bule, College of Engineering, Pune, 99.41

At present, Piyush is pursuing his B.Tech at College of Engineering, Pune (COEP). He scored a total of 99.41 percentile in CAT 2016. His strength was Quantitative Ability and wants to pursue MBA in Consulting.
