CAT Previous Year Question Paper: The previous year question papers of CAT contains the questions asked in the exam. Practising CAT previous year question papers helps candidates to understand the exam better. The test comprises three sections – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interprepation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. CAT question paper carries 100 Multiple-Choice questions (MCQ) as well as Non-Multiple Choice questions. Marks allotted to the exam is 300. According to CAT marking scheme, for correct answer candidates will score 3 marks in MCQs while -1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers. There is no negative marks for non-MCQ questions. As mentioned above, the test will be held in a computer-based mode and the total marks of the test is 300. There will be a total of 100 questions and candidates will be provided 180 minutes to complete the test. For each section, a total of 60 minutes will be provided and candidates cannot move from one section to the other without completing the time. The questions will be divided into 3 sections, which are
In Quantitative Ability questions are based on topics such as algebra, number system, permutation and combination. Aspirants should make sure that these topics are covered thoroughly. Practicing these topics will help candidates to boost their confidence. Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section covers majority of questions from para-jumbles and reading comprehension. Data Interpretation and logical reasoning comprises questions on Bar Graph, Data sufficiency, Pie chart, tables, assumptions, blood relation, seating arrangements, syllogism etc.

CAT mock test will be released by IIM Lucknow in October. Candidates appearing for CAT should appear for mock tests to get a hang of the type of questions asked.
