CMAT Merit List 2018 – The All India Merit list of CMAT 2018 will be announced by the conducting body of the CMAT exam – AICTE. It is expected to be announced in the first or second week of February 2018. The merit list will have the rank and score of all the candidates. On the basis of the CMAT merit list, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next rounds of admission. Depending on their rank/ score, the candidates can apply to various management institutes across the country. The scores mentioned in the CMAT merit list 2018 will remain valid for the admissions of academic year 2018-19. The merit list of all the candidates will be released online by AICTE. Apart from the merit list, the AICTE will also release the score cards. The candidates will be able to download their scorecard by entering their login details. CMAT Merit List 2018 – Components
The Merit list of CMAT indicates the following information –
- Name and Roll Number of every candidate
- Rank of every candidate
- Score and percentile in all the sections – QTDI, LR, LC and GA
- Overall score
- Overall percentile
CMAT Merit List 2018 – Calculation of Scores
CMAT exam is divided into four sections, and each section carries 25 questions. The maximum marks in every section is 100. For preparation of CMAT merit list, the scores are calculated by assigning –
- +4 marks for every correct answer
- -1 mark for every incorrect answer
- 0 mark for no answer
The merit list of CMAT contains the sectional scores as well as the overall score of every candidate.
CMAT 2018 Merit List – Determination of Ranks
The ranks of the candidates are determined on the basis of the total score. In case, there is a tie between two or more candidates, the following procedure is followed to break the tie –
The ranking will be done on the basis of sectional scores in the following order –
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
For example, if two candidates have the same total scores, but the first candidate has higher score in QT & DI, he/ she will get higher rank. If there is still a tie among the students, the same rank will be assigned to the candidates.
CMAT Merit List 2018 – Calculation of Percentile
The percentile score shows how an individual test taker’s score compares to the other test takers. The following formula is used to calculate the CMAT percentile –
(Total number of candidates – Rank of the candidates) / Total number of candidates X 100
