CMAT 2018: The result of CMAT has been announced on February 15. The computer based test was conducted on January 20 in two shifts. Based on the scores, the examination authority has released the All India merit list. Candidates are shortlisted for next rounds of selected based on their ranks and cutoff. Earlier, AICTE has released the answer key. The window to raise objections against the answer key was available till January 27, 2018. The test booklet comprised 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from sections on Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Over 60,000 candidates have appeared in CMAT 2018. The exam is conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM Programme offered by the AICTE approved management institutes. What is CMAT?

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) or CMAT is a national level entrance examination conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM programme in institutions and universities approved by AICTE.

CMAT Result 2018

The result of CMAT 2018 exam has been declared on February 14, 2018. AICTE has released the scorecard online along with the result and the candidates are required to download and print it. The candidates can check the result by logging in to their accounts using their log in credentials. The scorecards furnishes the total as well as the sectional scores of the candidates. On the basis of CMAT result, the candidates are offered admission in MBA programmes offered by AICTE-approved institutes.

CMAT Cutoff 2018

CMAT scores are accepted by over 1000 AICTE-approved institutes across the country. After the announcement of the result, these institutes release their individual cutoff scores. Depending on their percentile and the cutoff marks of various institutes, the candidates can seek admission in these institutes. The candidates who meet the cutoff criteria are invited for the next rounds that comprise, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). It must be noted that the cutoffs vary from institute to institute. Also, the cutoff scores are different for each category. In most of the top B-Schools, the cutoff marks are in the range of 98-100 percentile.

CMAT Merit List 2018

All India Merit List is announced by AICTE on the basis of the scores obtained by the candidates in CMAT exam. The Merit List mentions the following details -

The score mentioned in the CMAT 2018 merit list is valid for the academic year 2018-19.

CMAT Participating Institutes 2018

CMAT scores are accepted by over 1000 AICTE-approved institutes that offer MBA, PGDM and other management programmes. These include both government and private institutes. These institutes release their individual cutoff scores. The candidates who meet these cutoffs marks are eligible for the next rounds. National Institute of Technology (Durgapur), Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra), Jaipuria Institute of Management (Lucknow), Institute of Rural Management (Jaipur), KIIT School of Management (Bhubaneswar) are some of the well-known institutes where the candidates can seek admission on the basis of CMAT 2018 scores.

CMAT Selection Procedure 2018

The selection procedure of CMAT differs from institute to institute. The institutes that accept CMAT scores release their individual cutoffs. The candidates who meet the cutoff marks are invited for the pre-admission rounds that may comprise Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Many of the institutes conduct only WAT and PI rounds, while others conduct GD and PI or all the three. Thus, the selection procedure will depend on the institute in which a candidate is seeking admission.

CMAT Answer Key 2018 

The answer key of CMAT has been released.  Candidates have to  download CMAT answer key 2018 by entering email id and password. Candidates can calculate probable score based on the number of correct and incorrect answer.

CMAT Exam Analysis 2018 

Entrance Corner has provided the detailed exam analysis of CMAT 2018.  The overall paper of both slot 1 and 2 was moderate. The quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning section  was moderate to difficult. The Verbal ability section and General Knowledge was easy to moderate. There was no report of technical glitch and the exam was conducted smoothly. 

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2018

CMAT eligibility criteria has been prescribed by the examination authority. The eligibility criteria of CMAT give details about age, educational qualification and nationality that are required to apply. Candidates can check CMAT eligibility criteria below.

CMAT Application Form 2018

CMAT application form was available online. Candidates have to provide their Aadhaar number while filling CMAT application form but it is not mandatory. CMAT application form can be filled in three parts. First, candidates have to register using their name, date of birth, email id, contact details and preferred exam cities. Submitting details, the login id and password will be generated. In the next step, candidates have to pay the examination fees and fill other details in the application form. Fee payment can be done online and offline which is Rs 1400 for general and OBC candidates while that for female, SC, ST and PWD category it is Rs 700. CMAT Exam Centres 2018

CMAT 2018 was conducted across 75 cities. AICTE has announced the list of CMAT exam cities along with the notification. Candidates are allowed to select 3 test cities while filling the application form. Some of the CMAT exam cities are given below.

CMAT Admit Card 2018

CMAT admit card has been issued on January 11. The admit card is available online and will be sent to candidate’s registered email id. To download and print CMAT admit card, candidates have to enter email address or username and password. CMAT admit card contain a candidate’s photo, name, signature, roll number, exam time and date and address of test venue. Candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam with CMAT admit card and photo-identity proof. Candidates having any discrepancies should contact the helpdesk. The test will start from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and candidates should reach the exam centre by 8 am for security check, identity verification and check-in.

CMAT Syllabus 2018

AICTE does not have a defined syllabus for CMAT exam. Candidates must cover the following topics in each section.

  • Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Ratio & proportion, algebra, simple & compound interest, work & time, probability, mensuration etc.

  • Logical Reasoning Analogy test, inferences, cause and effects, sequencing, ranking tests, linear arrangements, number series, coding & decoding etc.

  • Language Comprehension Synonyms & antonyms, sentence correction, idioms & phrases, grammar, one-word substitution, paragraph completion etc.

  • General Awareness - Current awareness, history, culture, literature, geography, economics, sports, Indian constitution etc.

CMAT Exam Pattern 2018

CMAT exam pattern has been defined by the examination authority and contain details about the number of sections, questions, time duration and marking scheme. The test takers are required to attempt 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 180 minutes will be allotted to complete the test. Each correct answer will carry four marks while one mark will be deducted for wrong every answer. The questions will be equally divided into four sections, which are Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Marks allotted for the test is 400. CMAT mock test has been made available from October 25. To login for mock test candidates have to enter user name, password and pin.
