DU JAT 2018 is Multiple Choice Questions based paper covering subject areas like English, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Reasoning & Ability. It is expected that DU JAT 2018 exam pattern will be similar to that of 2017, when the test was conducted in pen and paper mode within a duration of 2 hours. The question paper will consist of 100 questions for a total of 400 marks. DU JAT 2018 is scheduled to be held in the second week of July 2018. The exam pattern of DU JAT 2018 will be released by the University of Delhi at the time of releasing the notification for the exam. DU JAT 2018 Exam Pattern – In detail

DU JAT 2018 will have a total of 100 questions, each being awarded 4 marks for being answered correctly.

Types of questions in DU JAT 2018:

  • Questions will be objective in nature i.e MCQ based
  • Each question comprises four options out of which only one response is correct
  • 4 marks will be awarded to candidates for answering every question correctly. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The questions in all the four sections are designed to test candidates in various aspects:

1. Quantitative Ability Questions will be based on numbers, profit and loss, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, graphs and pie charts.
2. General English Candidates will be tested on their language skills, their command over English grammar, sentence construction, vocabulary etc.
3. Reasoning and Analytical Ability Candidates will have to apply their knowledge to answer questions based on terms, prepositions, word sequences, time sequence number series, direction and distance diagrams.

General Awareness

Questions will test candidates on their knowledge in geography, economics, history, politics and current affairs.


All 4 sections in DU JAT 2018, General English, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning & Analytical Ability and General Awareness carry equal weightage in terms of the number of questions asked from each section and the number of marks with which they contribute to the overall total.

DU JAT exam pattern 2018 highlights

  • DU JAT 2018 question paper will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only.
  • While attempting MCQs, candidates have to choose from the options.
  • The exam will be conducted for a period of two hours.
  • After 2 hours, candidates will not be allowed to further attempt any questions.
  • Calculators brought by the candidates, mobile phones, and wrist watches with calculation facility will not be allowed inside the examination hall.

About DU JAT

The University of Delhi will conduct the Joint Admission Test or DU JAT 2018 in July. DU JAT 2018 will be conducted in pen and paper mode, i.e. offline mode at various test centers across the country. Students appearing in the DU JAT 2018 entrance exam will be admitted to B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, Bachelor of Management Studies and Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) programmes offered at 16 colleges affiliated to the university.
