IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2016 is the process of selection of candidates for admission in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur in MBA postgraduate program for session 2016-18. As the institute doesn’t have any entrance examination of its own, candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of performance in CAT 2015 Examination. 60 candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of merit. Admission process comprises of a candidate’s performance in CAT, work experience, and past academic records. Detailed IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2016

Stage I – PGP Admission Eligibility Criteria

Cutoff will be applied on CAT 2015 Score to determine a candidate’s status for next rounds of admission process. Those who are able to score more than or equal to the cutoff will be asked to appear in the next rounds. The tables below lists out the CAT 2015 Cutoff and the last year’s cutoff.

Stage II – Final Stage of IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2016

Candidates selected from the cutoff screening as mentioned above will be further assessed for admission on the basis of following criteria:

Past Academic Performance (PAP)

In this stage, candidate’s performance in class X, class XII, and bachelor’s degree exam will be considered. For class X and XII, candidates will be assigned a rating score (A or B) according to their performance in the examination. For bachelor’s degree, candidates will be assigned a rating score (C) according to their percentage in the degree examination.

PAP Score of the candidate will be calculated as per the following formula – PAP = (0.25*A+0.35*B+0.40*C)/10

Work Experience (WE)

As per IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria 2016, candidate’s work experience in months (denoted as x) will be assigned a score using the following formula:

  • WE = 0 for x <= 6
  • WE = 0 for x > 60
  • WE = x/30 for 6 < x <= 30
  • WE = 1 – ((x-30)/30) for 30 < x <=60

Stage III – Final Selection for Allotment

IIM Nagpur will call the candidates for WAT (Written Ability Test)/Group Discussions and Personal Interviews for allotment of seats. Candidate’s score in WE, PAP, and CAT 2015 will play a major role in selection for allotment. Selection will be done on the basis of rank of candidates for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/DAP). Rank will be assigned on the basis of final score obtained from written online exam, PAP, WAT/GE, PI, and WE. Final score of the candidate will be calculated as per the following formula: FS = 0.50 * (CAT Total Score /Maximum Score in CAT Total Score) + 0.30 * (PAP Score) + 0.20 * (WE Score).
