The minimum percentile stated in the admission criteria by the IIMs is generally misunderstood as the actual cutoff by the candidates. However, this score is basically the qualifying score which must be obtained by every candidate so that they can be considered for the admission. The candidates not meeting the cutoff will not be considered for the purpose of shortlisting. Also, the candidates must note that the actual cutoff remains on the higher side as compared to this minimum percentile published. IIM Shillong Cutoff 2015 – Areas on which it depends

The candidates for PI have been shortlisted on the basis of the following factors –

  • Candidate’s performance in the Written Examination (CAT)
  • Number of applicants
  • Number of vacant seats
  • Number of seats reserved for various categories
  • Total number of seats in IIM
  • Past academic performance
  • Work experience
  • Extra-curricular achievements
  • Exceptional achievements

IIM Shillong Cutoff 2015 – Details

  • Cutoffs vary only a little every year.
  • IIM Shillong will first focus on the marks obtained by a candidate in Graduation Degree & CAT and then final merit list will be prepared.
  • Candidates who are successful in obtaining marks above than the cutoff will be called for further rounds like Personal Interview (PI) etc.
  • Candidates who score less than the cut off marks will not be eligible for the admission.

IIM Shillong Selection Procedure

The candidates will be selected in two phases after announcement of CAT 2015. In the first phase, a short list of candidates would be declared for the Writing Skills Assessment Test (WSAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Thereafter, in the second phase, a final merit list will be prepared based on which admission will be offered. Scores of WSAT and PI will be used along with overall CAT performance for preparation of the final merit list for admission offer.

There will be different cutoff scores for candidate’s performance obtained in written test and personal interview in various groups. Note –

  1. The candidates will be ranked based on the decreasing order of the OSc Score The admission offers will be made to the candidates in order of their rank based on the OSc Score.
  2. The Institute abides by the reservation policy as per the Government of India provisions as applicable on RGIIM Shillong.
  3. Short-listed candidates would be intimated through IIMS website, e-mail (as provided in CAT Application form) and by SMS. These shortlisted candidates are required to fill-in and submit the Interview form online at IIMS website. Thereafter the institute will send the WAT & PI call letters/interview letters to those shortlisted.
  4. No communication would be sent to applicants who are not short-listed for WAT & PI.
