Karnataka PGCET MBA 2018: Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for admission to MBA programmes offered by 180 government-aided and private institutes in Karnataka. The entrance test is conducted in July across various cities in Karnataka. Online registration for Karnataka PGCET MBA will start in May. Candidates can download Karnataka PGCET MBA admit card from June. To be eligible for Karnataka PGCET MBA candidates must have Bachelors degree in any discipline. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode in one session for 150 minutes. Questions in the test are designed to assess a candidate’s proficiency in English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and General Intelligence and Quantitative Analysis. After completion of the test, KEA will publish the answer key. On the basis of candidates’ scores in the entrance test, the examination authority will the prepare merit list. Candidates will be called for counselling as per their ranks in the merit lists. Admissions will be offered to candidates based on merit, availability of seats and cutoff. As per last year’s notification, over 50,000 managmenet aspirants compete for 17,680 seats. Karnataka PGCET MBA Eligibility Criteria 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA eligibility criteria has been prescribed by the examination authority. According to Karnataka PGCET MBA eligibility criteria, candidates must have Bachelors degree in any discipline. The minimum qualifying percentage in graduation for general category is 50% for general and OBC category while that for SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates is 45%. To be eligible for government seats, candidates must have studied in educational institutions located in Karnataka for the seven years. Candidates vying for government seats have to produce relevant documents. Reservation of seats will be provided to candidates from Karnataka only.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Application Form 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA application form will be available from May. Candidates have to apply online since no other mode of applications will be accepted by the examination authority. Candidates need to pay their examination fee online which is Rs 650 for general and OBC category while for ST, SC and Category-I candidates of Karnataka it is Rs 500. Karnataka PGCET MBA application form can be filled in six steps. Karnataka PGCET MBA application form correction will be available after the last date of application. Karnataka PGCET MBA Admit Card 2018

Karnakata PGCET MBA admit card will be issued in June to candidates whose applications will be accepted by the exam conducting body. The admit card will be available online and candidates have to download it within the specified dates. To download Karnataka PGCET MBA admit card candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth. The admit card will mention the date, time, address of exam centres as well as candidate’s details. Candidates must bring the admit card along with photo-identity proof while appearing for the exam without which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Exam Pattern 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA exam pattern has been defined by KEA. It gives candidate’s an idea regarding the overall structure of the exam such as number of questions, sections, total marks and time duration. The exam will be held from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Karnataka PGCET MBA will comprise objective type multiple choice questions from English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and General Intelligence and Quantitative Analysis. Karnataka PGCET MBA Syllabus 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA syllabus contains topics from English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and General Intelligence and Quantitative Analysis. The syllabus has been released by the examination authority. Candidates can check the syllabus.

English Language: Questions in this section are asked from Synonyms, Antonyms, One word Substitution, Idioms and phrases and Sentence Correction.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Answer Key 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA answer key will be released within three days after the completion of entrance test. The answer key will be available in a PDF file and contain the correct answer to the questions asked in the exam. Cross-verifying the answers candidates will be able to calculate their probable score based on the number of correct answers. Candidates can raise objections if they are not satisfied with the answers in Karnataka PGCET MBA answer key. Objections will be entertained within the specified dates. Karnataka PGCET MBA Counselling 2018

The centralised counselling process of Karnataka PGCET will start after the announcement of result. Karnataka PGCET MBA counselling will be held online. The counselling comprises various stages – registration, verification of documents, option entry, seat allotment and reporting to the allotted colleges. The details of counselling is explained below.

Registration

Candidates called for counselling have to report to the nearest helpline centres for registration. Candidates will be briefed about the procedure regarding exercising options, allotment of seats, payment of fees and reporting to the college

Document verification

Candidates original documents will be verified in the assigned helpline centres. After document verification candidates will be given verification slip and secret key

Option Entry

Candidates who will verify their documents can participate in the option entry process. Option entry will begin after display of seat matrix. Candidate have to enter their options for all the discipline at once. There is no limit for entry of option

Seat allotment

Seats will be allotted based on the merit and priority of options entered by the candidates as well as the seat matrix. The examination authority will first publish the mock allotment followed by real allotment

Reporting to allotted colleges

Candidates have to report to the allotted colleges to confirmation their allotment, pay the fees

Karnataka PGCET MBA Option Entry 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA option entry will be conducted in two rounds for candidates whose documents have been verified within the specified dates. The option entry will begin after seat matrix is released. The details of college-wise, course-wise and category-wise available seats for allotment will be displayed in the seat matrix. In option entry candidates will have to enter their choice of college from the seats available. To exercise options candidates have to login with their PGCET number and password.Candidates have to first select the discipline in the option entry form. On selection of discipline, the list of colleges will be displayed. Candidates have to enter the priority number in front of the displayed college as per their choice. Options recorded in the server on the last day will be frozen and those options will be considered for allotment of seats.

Karnataka PGCET MBA Seat Allotment 2018

Karnataka PGCET MBA seat allotment depends entirely on the priority of options given by candidates as per their rank. Seat allotment will be done in two rounds. The examination authority will publish the mock allotment list before the actual allotment. The mock allotment helps candidates to know the colleges allotted to them. Based on which candidates have the option of changing the priority of options after mock allotment. After publishing the real allotment result candidates allotted seat will have to report to the colleges for confirming their seat. Once the first round seat allotment is completed, all the unfilled, surrendered, newly added, cancelled seats will be filled. Allotment of seats in second round Karnataka PGCET MBA seat allotment will same as the first round.
