MICAT 2017 Phase – II held on February 12MICA, Ahmedabad conducted MICAT 2017 (II) on February 12, 2017 for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communication (PGDM-C). This entrance test was held acorss major cities of India like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ranchi, Vadodara, Visakhapatnam etc. The candidates who had score of CAT 2016/XAT 2017/GMAT (2015 onwards)/MICAT (I) 2017 were eligible to appear for the test. Also, the candidates who were able to furnish their MICAT 2017 admit card were only allowed to sit for the test.

 

The candidates who took MICAT II 2017 reported that they received the same paper with the same order of questions eliminating uncertainties over grading and normalization. The candidates found the difficulty level of the test slightly tougher compared to MICAT I 2017. The General Awareness and Quantitative Analysis sections were on the difficult side.

The question paper of the exam was set up according to the MICAT 2017 exam pattern. There were 3 sections in the test, which were as follow –

  • Section 1 – It was a descriptive test, which had 4 questions.
  • Section 2 – It was a Psychometric test, which had 36 questions.
  • Section 3 – Here, the questions were asked from 4 sub-section. 30 questions were asked from Reasoning, 22 questions were asked from General Awareness, 25 questions were asked from Verbal Ability and 25 questions were asked from Quantitative Analysis.

The candidates were not allowed to switch between the sections. There was no negative marking for Section 1 and 2. However, 1/4th marks will be deducted for marking an incorrect answer in Section 3.

Duration of these sections was as follow –

  • Section 1 – 35 Minutes
  • Section 2 – 25 Minutes
  • Section 3 – 105 Minutes

The MICAT 2017 result for Phase 2 will be announced by MICA on February 20, 2017. On the basis of score obtained in this entrance test, the eligible candidates meeting the MICAT 2017 cutoff will be shortlisted for the MICAT 2017 selection process. The shortlisted candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of following weightage –

  1. Scaled score of MICAT – 50%
  2. GE – 18%
  3. PI – 30%
  4. CAT/XAT/GMAT – 2%
