MICAT 2018MICAT 2018: MICA conducts the MICA Admission Test or MICAT for admission to around 180 seats for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C) programme. MICAT is conducted twice in year- MICAT I and MICAT II. According to the notification, MICAT-I will be held on December 17, 2017 and MICAT-II is scheduled to be conducted on February 17, 2018. The online registration for MICAT-I has started from September 25, 2017 onwards while that for MICAT-II will begin on January 3, 2018. To be eligible for MICAT 2018, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and score of atleast one of the three main management entrance exams-CAT/ XAT/ GMAT. MICAT will be conducted in computer based mode across 27 exam centres. The test comprises six sections – Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and Descriptive Test (DT). On the basis of a candidate’s performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT, selection will be done for GE and PI. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, GE and PI for offering admission to candidates. MICAT Important Dates 2018

MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2018

MICAT eligibility criteria have been prescribed by the examination authority. According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must have a CAT, XAT or GMAT (2016 onwards) score. Besides applicants should possess a graduation degree in any discipline. Final year graduation candidates are also eligible for applying to MICAT 2018. MICAT Application Form 2018

MICAT application form has been released on September 25, 2017. Candidates can register online for the exam till November 30, 2017. Application fees for the exam is Rs 1965 for all categories and can be paid both online and offline. MICAT 2018 application form can be filled in three steps.

MICAT Exam Centres 2018

MICAT computer-based test will be conducted across 27cities. However, GE and PI will be conducted at five cities – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai. Candidates have to select their preferred MICAT exam centres while filling the application form. Some of MICAT exam centres are given in the table below.

MICAT Admit Card 2018

MICA will release the admit card of MICAT 2018 exam online. MICAT-I admit card will be issued from December 11, 2017 onwards while that of MICAT-II will be released on February 9, 2018. MICAT admit card will be issued to only those candidates who successfully register for the exam. To download admit card candidates have to enter their MICAT ID and password. MICAT admit card will have candidate’s name, roll number, examination venue, photo and signature and exam day instructions.

MICAT Exam Pattern 2018

MICAT 2018 comprises Psychometric Test, Verbal Ability (VA), Quantitative Ability (QA), General Awareness (GA), Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR) and Descriptive Test (DT). As per MICAT exam pattern, the exam will be held for 165 minutes duration. The question paper is divided into three parts and carries 140 objective as well as descriptive type questions and is divided into three parts. There is no negative marking for Part I and II while Part III has a negative marking of 0.25 percent. MICAT Syllabus 2018

MICAT syllabus comprises topics from Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness, Divergent-Convergent Reasoning and descriptive test. Verbal Ability questions are based on word combination, sentence correction, idioms, analogies, synonyms, antonyms etc. In Quantitative Ability section questions are asked from arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics etc. General Awareness questions are based on advertising, marketing, politics, geography, current affairs, sports etc. Check complete MICAT syllabus.

MICAT Selection Procedure 2018

The selection procedure of MICAT 2018 can be divided into three parts –

  • First, the candidates must appear for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT exam. Only the candidates who have appeared for one of these exams are eligible for MICAT.

  • The second stage comprises MICAT 2018 exam. To appear for this exam, the candidates must fill and submit the application form within the specified dates.

  • In the third stage, Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted. For GE and PI, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of MICAT 2018 scores.

After the completion of the above-mentioned steps, the final result will be declared and the successful candidates will be allotted seats in the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C) offered by MICA.

MICAT Result 2018

The result of MICAT I and MICAT II will be released online. MICAT-I result will be declared on January 3, 2018 while that of MICAT-II will be announced on February 26. In case of candidates who appear both for MICAT I and MICAT II, the better of the two scores will be considered. On the basis of MICAT 2018 result, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next rounds of selection that comprise Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). The result will be announced online in the form of scorecards. The candidates can download the scorecard by entering their credentials. The final MICAT result will be announced after the completion of GE/ PI.

MICAT cutoff 2018

MICAT cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that should score to be eligible for next stage of selection process. The examination authority does not release the cutoff. Candidates who will qualify the psychometric test shall be assessed for the various MICAT sections. The Descriptive Tests will be evaluated if the candidates secure minimum cutoff in these sections. Candidates securing the cutoff in Descriptive Test (DT) will be considered for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Candidates can check below MICAT 2018 expected cutoff.
