MICATMICAT 2018: MICA will conduct MICAT II exam on February 17, 2018. The application form of MICAT has been released on January 3. Candidates can fill MICAT II application form till February 5.  The entrance test will be conducted in computer based mode across 39 cities. To be eligible for MICAT 2018, candidates must have scores of CAT 2017, XAT 2018 and GMAT (2016 onwards). MICAT comprises six sections -Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and Descriptive Test (DT). Based on MICAT scores and performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT candidates will be selected for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). The final merit list of MICAT 2018 will be prepared on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, GE and PI for offering admission to candidates. MICAT is conducted by MICA for admission to 180 seats for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C) programme. The test is conducted twice in a year and better of the two MICAT scores are considered for admission. MICAT 2 result 2018 has been declared on February 26. In 2017, total 4453 candidates applied for MICAT 1 while 4518 applied for MICAT 2. Out of which 716 candidates will be selected for GE and PI. MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2018

MICAT eligibility criteria have been prescribed by the examination authority. According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must have a CAT, XAT or GMAT (2016 onwards) score. Besides applicants should possess a graduation degree in any discipline. Final year graduation candidates are also eligible for applying to MICAT 2018. Foreign nationals can apply only if they have a foreign passport with GMAT score of 600 or more. 

MICAT Application Form 2018

MICAT application form is available from January 3 to February 5. Candidates had to register online for the exam. Application fees for the exam was Rs 1965 for all categories and were accepted both online and offline. MICAT 2018 application form comprised four steps.

MICAT Exam Centres 2018

MICAT computer-based test will be conducted across 39 cities. However, GE and PI will be conducted at five cities - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai. Candidates have to select their preferred MICAT exam centres while filling the application form. Some of MICAT exam centres are given in the table below.

MICAT Admit Card 2018

MICA will issue admit card of MICAT II  2018 exam on FEbruary 9, 2018. MICAT admit card will be issued to only those candidates who will successfully register for the exam. To download admit card candidates have to enter their registration and application number.  MICAT admit card have candidates name, roll number, examination venue, photo and signature and exam day instructions.

MICAT Exam Pattern 2018

MICAT 2018 comprises Psychometric Test, Verbal Ability (VA), Quantitative Ability (QA), General Awareness (GA), Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR) and Descriptive Test (DT). As per MICAT exam pattern, the exam will be held for 165 minutes duration. The question paper will be divided into three parts and carried 145 objective as well as descriptive type questions and was divided into three parts. There is no negative marking for Part I and III while Part II has a negative marking of 0.25 percent. MICAT Syllabus 2018

MICAT syllabus comprises topics from Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness, Divergent-Convergent Reasoning and descriptive test. Verbal Ability questions are based on word combination, sentence correction, idioms, analogies, synonyms, antonyms etc. In Quantitative Ability section questions are asked from arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics etc. General Awareness questions are based on advertising, marketing, politics, geography, current affairs, sports etc. Check complete MICAT syllabus.

MICAT Selection Procedure 2018

The selection procedure of MICAT 2018 can be divided into three parts -

  • First, the candidates must appear for CAT/ XAT/ GMAT exam. Only the candidates who have appeared for one of these exams are eligible for MICAT.

  • The second stage comprises MICAT 2018 exam. To appear for this exam, the candidates must fill and submit the application form within the specified dates.

  • In the third stage, Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted. For GE and PI, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of MICAT 2018 scores.

After the completion of the above-mentioned steps, the final result will be declared and the successful candidates will be allotted seats in the Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C) offered by MICA. Approximately 1/10th of the total number of candidates who appears in the two MICATs will be shortlisted for GE & PI based on the total scaled scores.

MICAT Result 2018

The result of MICAT II has been released by MICA on February 26. Candidates need to check their result online by entering user id and password. In case, candidates who appears both for MICAT I and MICAT II, the better of the two scores will be considered. On the basis of MICAT 2018 result, the candidates are shortlisted for the next rounds of selection that comprise Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). The final MICAT result will be announced after the completion of GE/ PI.

MICAT cutoff 2018

MICAT cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that should score to be eligible for next stage of selection process. The examination authority does not release the cutoff. Candidates who will qualify the psychometric test shall be assessed for the various MICAT sections. The Descriptive Tests will be evaluated if the candidates secure minimum cutoff in these sections. Candidates securing the cutoff in Descriptive Test (DT) will be considered for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.Candidates can check below MICAT 2018 expected cutoff.
