SNAP 2017: Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) for postgraduate management programmes offered at 15 SIU-affiliated colleges. This year SNAP will be conducted online on December 17 across 102 cities. Online registration for SNAP 2017 is open from August 10 to November 27, 2017, the application fees for which is Rs 1750. To be eligible for SNAP 2017 candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50 % (45% is for SC/ST candidates). SNAP entrance test carries 150 marks and will be held for 120 minutes duration. The exam comprises five sections – General English:Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Current Affairs and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. SNAP 2017 admit card will be issued online from December 1. SIU will declare SNAP result on December 28, 2017. On the basis of SNAP percentile candidates will be shortlisted for Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test to be conducted by the participating institutes. SNAP eligibility criteria have been announced by SIU. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates who have completed their graduation with 50 % (45% for SC/ST) are eligible to apply for SNAP 2017. However, candidates appearing for final year exam can also apply. The details of SNAP eligibility criteria is given below.

SIU has released SNAP application form on August 10. The last date to fill SNAP application and fee payment are November 27, 2017. Candidates are required to apply online for SNAP 2017. Fee payment can be done online and offline. SNAP application fees for all categories is Rs 1750 additionally candidates have to pay Rs 1000 for programmes they wish to apply for. SNAP 2017 application form can be filled in four steps.

SNAP 2017 will be conducted in 102 cities across India. Entrance Corner has provided the entire lists of SNAP exam centres 2017. While filling SNAP application form candidates have to select three exam cities as per their preferences. The examination authority will not entertain any requests for change in SNAP exam centres after final submission of application. The name and address of exam centre allotted to the candidate will be mentioned on the admit card. Some of major SNAP exam centres are mentioned in the table below.
SNAP exam centres
SNAP admit card will be released online on December 1, 2017 at 11 am. To download the admit card candidates have to enter SNAP ID and password. SNAP admit card will contain applicants’ details, photograph, test venue, exam timing and exam day guidelines. Candidates can download their admit card till December 17, 2017. Admit card along with photo identity proof should be carried to the exam centre. Candidates have to paste their photograph in the admit card after downloading it. SIU will not sent the hard copy of SNAP admit card by post.
SNAP exam pattern has been prescribed by SIU. As per exam pattern, the exam comprises four sections - General English, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Current Affairs and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. The test carries total 150 questions and total marks is 150. For each correct answer candidates will score 1 mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for wrong answer. The exam will be held for 120-minute duration.

The examination authority does not release SNAP syllabus. Based on previous years’ question paper coaching institutes have released a tentative syllabus. As per SNAP syllabus, General English section comprises reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and verbal ability. In the Current affairs section questions will be asked from Current affairs, geography, science, automobiles, sports, world records, business & finance etc. Analytical & Logical Reasoning shall comprise of topics such as Critical reasoning, syllogisms, matrix arrangements etc. In Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency questions will be asked from Number system, simple interest & compound interest, profit & loss, trigonometry etc.

SNAP sample papers have been released by coaching institutes.The sample papers are available online at Entrance Corner for General English, Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, Analytical & Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. SNAP sample papers will familiarise the candidates with the structure of the exam.Apart from this, practising sample papers will improve a candidate’s questions solving ability in the exam and boosts their confidence.
SNAP result will be announced online by SIU on December 28. Candidates to check their result and scorecard will have to enter SNAP user id and password. SNAP scorecard will mention details such as sectional and overall scores, qualifying status as well as candidate’s name, roll number, photograph and signature. On the basis of SNAP result the participating will announce the shortlist of candidates. Selected candidates will be called for GE-PI and WAT. After the completion of GE-PI and WAT, final merit list of the candidates will be released by SIU. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of SNAP score, GE-PI and WAT. SNAP final merit list will be released in the fourth week of February 2018.
SNAP cutoff will be announced by 15 symbiosis institutes for admission to various management programmes. The cutoff is the minimum required percentile to be secured by candidates to be eligible for the admission process. SNAP cutoff will vary as per institutes. The selection procedure of SNAP 2017 comprises of various stages which include Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (GE – PIWAT). The candidates are shortlisted for GE – PIWAT on the basis of their SNAP percentile. While preparing the final merit list, the candidates’ SNAP score, as well as their performance in GE - PIWAT, is taken into consideration.
