The Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Exam (AMUEEE) is a common entrance test that is conducted every year under the direction of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The exam is held to select candidates for admissions to the various degree courses in engineering courses, that are offered by the University. AMUEEE 2016, for the upcoming academic year, is likely to be held during the third week of May 2016. Candidates who are appearing for the AMU entrance exam can expect their results to be announced within a month after the exam will be conducted. The University will also declare the AMU 2016 Cutoff soon after the results of it will be published. The cutoff will be the main criterion for short listing candidates for admissions to the various courses. This standard benchmark or AMUEEE cutoff will be used by the University to delimit candidates for admissions as each year thousands of prospective applicants compete for the few limited seats.

Filtering out the best applicants is, therefore, key and the AMUEEE Cutoff 2016 is seen as a tool to achieve the same. The University will take into consideration a wide array of factors while determining the cutoff for the entrance test such as the number of candidates who appeared for the entrance test, the difficulty level associated with AMUEEE, the overall performance of candidates in the test and the number of seats that are available with respect to each course etc. Typically, any candidate who fails to meet the AMUEEE Cutoff 2016 cannot hope to participate further in the counselling and allotment process of the University.

Significance of the AMU 2016 Cutoff

  • The cutoff scores are important as only such candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks that have been set by the University shall be summoned further for the counselling and the allotment process
  • The AMUEEE Cutoff 2016 will also be the factor, as per which the Merit list will be prepared by the University
  • The AMUEEE Merit List will reflect the ranks secured by all the shortlisted candidates
  • Candidates will be called to appear for the counselling round during which seats will be allotted in their preferred course, as per their merit and availability of seat.
