CEED 2018 - The Common Entrance Examination for Design or CEED 2018 is a qualifying examination administered by IIT Bombay for admission into Master of Design (MDes) programmes and PhD programmes in design. According to the official notification, CEED will be conducted on January 20, 2018. The online application form has been released on October 9. The last date to fill application was November 12, 2017. However, Registration for UCEED 2018 with late fee of Rs. 500 can be done from November 13 to 17. CEED is a computer-based test and it will be conducted in around 20 Indian cities. To appear in CEED and for being eligible for admission candidates must have passed a degree/ diploma/ post graduation programme. As per CEED exam pattern, the online test consists two parts, part A and part B. Part A of CEED 2018 exam will have objective type questions which will evaluate visual and spatial ability, logical reasoning among others. While part B comprises questions to test design, drawing and writing skills of the students. To appear for CEED 2018 candidates must fulfill eligibility criteria defined by IIT Bombay. Candidates can check CEED 2018 eligibility criteria below.
Academic qualification- Candidates must pass degree/ diploma/ post graduate degree/ GD arts diploma programme.
Age requirement- There is no age limit to appear for CEED.
Number of attempts- Candidates can appear for CEED any number of times.
The application form of CEED 2018 has been made available online from October 9 onwards. The application process of CEED involves five basic steps mentioned below:

IIT Bombay will conduct CEED 2018 in around 20 cities across the country. Candidates have to choose three exam cities as per their choice while applying for CEED 2018. A particular city may have more than one CEED exam centres. The name and complete address of CEED exam centre 2018 will be mentioned on the admit card. Change in the exam cities preference will not be entertained by the examination conducting authority under any circumstances.
The admit card of CEED 2018 will be issued to all the successfully registered candidates from December 25 till January 20. CEED admit card can be downloaded by using the registered email ID and password. Important details such as application number, roll number, exam date and time, address of the exam centre etc. will be mentioned in CEED admit card 2018. Candidates must carry CEED 2018 hall ticket along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre.
CEED 2018 examination consists of two parts- A and B. Questions of both the parts will appear on the computer. Candidates have to enter their answers to Part A on the computer. For marking answers to questions in part B candidates will be provided with an answer book by the invigilator. As per CEED exam pattern, part A consist 3 sections with total 45 questions. The total marks in Part A of CEED question paper is 100. Part B comprises 8 questions and it carries a total of 100 marks. The marking scheme for both the parts differs. The total duration of CEED 2018 is 3 hours. The duration of Part A is one hour and for Part B is two hours. Part B will start only after part A ends.
Questions in the entrance test will be asked as per the syllabus of CEED. Candidates can check the topics prescribed for both part A and part B of CEED 2018 below:

As CEED is an aptitude test there is no specific textbook or guide recommended for its preparation. To get acquainted with the type of questions that candidates can expect in the exam they must practice CEED sample papers. With the help of previous years' CEED question papers aspirants will have a better understanding of the test structure and it will lead to a more effective preparation.
The answer key of CEED will be published online by IIT Bombay. CEED answer key 2018 will only be available for part A of the question paper. CEED 2018 draft answer key will be released on January 27. Candidates can use CEED answer key to cross-check their responses and calculate their probable score. The draft answer key will be open for challenge and candidates can raise their objection online latest by January 31, 2018. After scrutinising the comments received by students, the final CEED answer key 2018 will be released on February 4.
The result of CEED 2018 will be declared on March 5, 2018. CEED result will be published by IIT Bombay only in the online mode. Candidates can download CEED 2018 scorecard by entering their registered email ID and password. The result of CEED 2018 will comprise the scores obtained by candidates in the entrance exam. However, only those candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks in part A of CEED question paper will be able to check their score in Part B. The answer booklets of part B of only those candidates will be evaluated who will qualify in part A of the examination. Based on scores obtained in part B of the examination, CEED merit list will be prepared. Candidates must ensure to take a print out of CEED scorecard as they might require to produce it at time of counselling and seat allotment process. CEED scorecard 2018 will valid for a period of one year from the date of result declaration.
The cutoff of CEED 2018 is the minimum marks that candidates have to obtain to qualify the entrance test. Part A of CEED question paper will be used as a screening test. While only the score obtained by candidates only in part B will be used for preparing CEED merit list 2018. The minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to obtain in part A of CEED question paper is given below in the table:

The counselling of CEED 2018 will be carried out by the participating institutes separately. IIT Bombay, the examination authority will not hold any common CEED counselling. The announcement for admission in MDes and PhD programmes in design will be notified separately by the institutes. Candidates eligible for admission have to apply separately at the desired institutes. The participating institutes of CEED 2018 might also conduct a written test/ interview before the counselling and admission process. Candidates offered admission have to pay the admission fees, submit necessary documents and confirm their admissions by completing all the required formalities.
