News Update: CSAB has opened the portal to submit a request for refund of admission fee for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates may access the link below to submit the request. Also, the official notice regarding the refund of fee is also given below.

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and Joint Admission Board (JAB) collaborated as JoSAA to conduct a combine counselling for JEE Main 2015 and JEE Advanced 2015. However, to fill the Supernumerary seats, the counselling is being conducted by CSAB. From the link above, candidates may visit the official website of CSAB. Whereas, the schedule of Supernumerary seats is given in the table below.

CSAB 2015 Special Round Counselling

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) is solely conducting a special round of JEE Main 2015 counselling. The special round of counselling is being held for the intake of candidates into 3000 (approx) vacant seats in NITs, IIITs and GFTs. The schedule of JEE Main 2015 special round of counselling is as below:

Stages of Counselling and Allotment Process

Candidates have to complete the following steps in order to participate in the counselling rounds

  • Online registration on the website of CSAB
  • Choice filling according to preference
  • Choice locking before the deadline
  • Seat allotment as per various factors
  • Reporting to the institute allotted

Participating Institutes

All the participating NITs (National institute of technology), CFTIs (Centrally funded technical institute) and other SFTIs (Self funded technical institute) will be considered for counselling and allotment.

Rounds of Counselling

CSAB 2015 Counselling cum Allotment will be done in multiple rounds. There shall be basically three normal rounds and thereafter, two extended rounds known as spot round and extra spot round.

Features of Counselling

  • Counselling will be conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) on the behalf of CBSE and JEE Board
  • Seat allotment will be done as per JEE Main 2015 merit rank, as issued by CBSE
  • Allotment of seats will be done for all participating institutes, as mentioned above
  • Only those candidates who have a valid JEE Main 2015 AIR will be able to participate in counselling cum allotment
  • 50% admissions in participating NITs shall be kept reserved for Home State (HS) Quota students. Rest of the 50% will be allotted to Other State Quota
  • Seat allotment will be done in the order of Home State (HS) Quota/Other State Quota and finally the All India Quota as applied
  • In JEE Main 2015 Counselling, combined choice filling for Engineering and Architecture will be done so that there is no vacant seats at the end
  • Only one seat will be allotted to one candidate, even if he is eligible for both Engineering and Architecture courses
  • For the candidates belonging to Union Territories without NITs (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Kandvi, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli), full home quota will be made available at the nearest NIT. These seats shall be supernumerary over and above the home state quota of the respective NITs.

Process of CSAB 2015 Counselling Round 1, 2 and 3

Stage 1 – Online Registration (1st week to 4th week of July 2015)

  • Registration for spot round shall be done once the JEE Main 2015 Counselling rounds are completed
  • Enter all required information, correctly and completely
  • Fill details such as – name, age, gender, date of birth, category, educational qualification,
  • mobile number, email address and bank details
  • Payment of fees will be done as per e-challan, Debit/Credit Cards

Stage 2 - Online Choice Filling and Locking

  • Once the candidates have completed registration successfully, they will exercise the options of colleges and courses on the official website of CSAB
  • Choice filling will be done from 1st week of July 2015
  • Candidates are informed that seats would be allotted in the order of choices entered. Hence, you must be very careful while ordering choices
  • Locking of choices in Choice Filling of CSAB 2015 has to be done before the deadline else the last saved choices will be considered for allotment
  • On completion of the 3rd round of seat allotment, un-allotted candidates can modify the choices accordingly
  • Those who are unsatisfied with the allotment of seat can unlock their choices for spot round of counselling once they have surrendered the previous allotment
  • Candidates who did not register can also register for the 4th round from 4th week of July 2015

Stage 3 - Declaration of Seat Allotment and Document Verification

  • Seat Allotment will be made as per the All India Merit Rank acquired by the candidates in JEE Main 2015 and choices filled in the counselling procedure.
    There will be four rounds of seat allotment after CSAB 2015 Counselling and Option Filling.
    Those who are allotted a seat must report to any one of the Reporting Centers as per the specified schedule after they have deposited the fee.
    They should get the documents verified and make consent to offer of seat.
    Once all formalities are completed, a provisional admission letter will be issued.

Stage 4 - Reporting for Admission to Allotted Institute

Candidate is supposed to report for admission to the allotted institute in person after the verification process is done.

CSAB 2015 Spot Round of Seat Allotment

  • CSAB will conduct a spot round for the seats that are vacant from the four round of seat allotment
  • Registered candidates need not to register again Those candidates who have already registered for the first 4 rounds of counselling are not required to register again
  • Such candidates who register fresh will be needed to fill the choices, pay the counselling fee and lock choices at Reporting Centers
  • CSAB 2015 Spot Round will be done for seats in both Government Institutes (NITs, CFTIs and IIITs) and Private Institutes (SFTIs)
  • Fee collected at the spot round is non –refundable
  • If a candidate rejects a seat allotted in the counselling round, he will not be allowed to participate in any of the further rounds including spot round
  • If a candidate withdraws himself from the counselling procedure once he is provisionally allotted to an institute, he will not be considered for any further rounds including spot round
