Central Universities Common Entrance Test

CUCET 2017 The Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) conduct CUCET to fill M.Tech seats in the participating Central Universities. Total of 9 Universities will take part in the examination. However, the candidates can only apply for three of the University. Even the number of courses to be applied for in each University is restricted to three. GATE qualifiers are exempted from taking the examination but just like the CUCET aspirants, they need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. In all, there are nine Central Universities which will be considering CUCET scores to allocate seats. However, the M.Tech course is only offered by five Universities. Check the table below.

CUCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of CUCET 2017 varies for each University. Hence, before applying the candidates should check and ensure the criteria for that University, from which the candidate aim to pursue to M.Tech.

Central University of Rajasthan
  • B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc degree with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates)
Central University of Tamil Nadu
  • Candidates Should not be more than 30 years old
  • M.Sc or B.E/B.Tech degree with minimum of 60% marks (55% for OBC and 50% for SC/ST candidates)
Central University of Kashmir
  • B.Tech/B.E/M.Sc degree with minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
  • GATE Qualifiers may also apply
Central University of Jammu
  • B.Tech/B.E degree with 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
  • GATE Qualifiers will be given preference
Central University of Punjab
  • B.Tech/B.E with 55% marks from a recognised university.
  • GATE Qualifiers will be given preference

CUCET 2017 Important Dates

The table for important dates of CUCET 2017, below, displays the tentative dates for now. However, as soon as, the official dates will be announced, we will update it in the table below.

Issuance of admit card will begin in 1st week of May 2017
CUCET 2017 will be held on 3rd week of May 2017
Provisional answer key will be uploaded on 4th week of May 2017
Final answer key will be uploaded on 1st week of June 2017
Result will be announced on 3rd week of June 2017

CUCET 2017 Application Form

The application form for the examination will only be released online and the candidates will not be able to submit it through another mode. The link to avail the form will be uploaded on this page, as soon as it will be released. It should be noted that to fill that form, candidates must have a valid e-mail id and phone number. It will be required during the registration. To submit the CUCET Application Form, the candidates will also have to remit the application fee. The details of it are as below:

Application Fee:

The application fee amount is as given below and the candidates may pay it via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking or SBI challan.

General/OBC candidates Rs 700
SC/ST/PWD candidates 350
Note: The candidates will also have to pay Rs. 50 as additional bank charges

CUCET 2017 Admit Card

The admit card of the examination will be released online. The candidates will only be able to download it from this page, by entering the Application Number and Password. The candidates must carry it on the exam day, else they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

CUCET 2017 Exam Pattern

The paper pattern of CUCET is as mentioned below:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Language:
  • Mode: Pen and Paper (Offline Mode)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Type
  • Parts: Two, Part A and Part B
  • Question in Each Part: 25 in Part A and 75 in Part B
  • Marks per Question: 3
  • Negative Marking: 1 marks for each incorrect answer

CUCET 2017 Answer Key

The official provisional answer key will be released by CURAJ. It will be uploaded on the official website, as a PDF. The link to avail it will be provided on this page as well. Candidate will be able to scrutinise it, which will be considered by the authorities.

After the analysis of all the objections, final answer key will be released. The final key will not be open for objections. The candidates may use both the keys, to predict their scores.


CUCET 2017 Result

The link to check the result will be provided on this page. The candidates will just have to enter the Application Number and Date of Birth to check it. It will only carry the score of the candidates, as the merit list will be prepared separately by each participating University.


CUCET 2017 Selection Process

After the announcement of the result, each University will handle the admission process at the individual level. Each of it will release a separate merit list which will be prepared on the basis of CUCET 2017 Score and criteria of eligibility. A counselling and admission schedule will also be released and the candidates will have to be present for seat allocation, accordingly.


CUCET 2017 Counselling

As and when the schedule for the counselling will be released, we will update it here. Since it will be held individually by the Universities, the process of it might also defer. However, the seat allocation will be done on the basis of CUCET 2017 score and only the eligible candidates will be granted admission. It should be noted that the GATE 2017 qualifiers will be given preference over the CUCET qualifiers.
