DASA 2018DASA 2018: Admissions to various undergraduate programmes for candidates belonging to foreign nationals/PIOs/NRIs/OCI is offered through Direct Admission of Students Abroad or DASA, a scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Every year, DASA is conducted by any one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and other premier technical institutions in India. Last year, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur was the conducting body for DASA. Candidates who are planning to take admission through DASA 2018 have to fill and submit their DASA 2018 application form expected to be made available from the first week of April 2018. To apply for DASA 2018, candidates have to submit their SAT subject test 2018 scores within the prescribed time period. Also candidates have to pass the qualifying examination from any system of education as recognised by the Association of Indian Universities to participate in DASA 2018. They must have successfully qualified in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology) with 60% or 6.50 CGPA to be eligible for admission through DASA 2018. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of SAT subject scores received by the conducting institute. Based on the merit list candidates will be called seat allotment process and seats will be offered by 45 participating institutes under DASA 2018 scheme. DASA Eligibility Criteria 2018

The eligibility criteria of DASA 2018 has been defined by the authority. Check the DASA eligibility criteria is given below:

Age requirements: Candidates born on or after October 1, 1993 are eligible. Date of birth should match as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic

Academic qualifications: Applicants must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

Qualifying marks: Applicants should have passed the exam with 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA taken together in all the subjects. If in case, only the grades/CGPA are awarded, then the percentage /CGPA equivalence provided by the principal will be considered for admission.

SAT subject scores: Candidates must have qualified in SAT with a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT subjects test. The subjects will be Mathematics level 2, Physics and Chemistry. SAT scores should be sent directly to the institute.

 

DASA Application Form 2018

To get admission in DASA UG courses, candidates have to register online. DASA application form 2018 is expected to release the DASA application form 2018 in the second week of June 2018. Check the steps DASA application form 2018 below:

Documents to be submitted with DASA Application Form 2018

In the application, along with the photograph and signature, candidates must upload the following relevant documents.

  • Passport (Candidates from Nepal can submit the authenticated citizenship card, if they do not have a passport)

  • Class X or equivalent (Secondary education board/university certificate) for the proof of date of birth

  • Class X, XI and XII mark sheet

  • School authority letter for the completion of 11th and 12th standard as per the format prescribed

  • Proof of fee payment if the fee will be paid by SWIFT transfer

 

DASA Reservation Criteria 2018

As per the provisions of All India Council for Technical Education, there will be one third seat reserved for the Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG). However, if the seats under CIWG category left vacant it will be reverted to the quota of 2/3 for other categories of DASA 2018. The eligibility for such candidates will be same that of NRIs. Candidates will have to pay USD 300 as registration fee and USD 700 as first-semester tuition fee.

  • Copy of parent's work permit (if any)

  • Certificate of the company or organisation as a proof that parent is working in gulf country

DASA Merit List 2018

Merit list of DASA 2018 will be made available to all the eligible applicants. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of total SAT Subject Test scores only. Only those applicants, whose valid SAT Subject Test scores will be received by the admission authority on or before the second week of June 2018 directly from College Board, will be considered for merit list preparation and seat allotment. If the SAT Subject Test scores (total) of two or more applicants are same, inter se merit will be as follows:

By marks obtained in SAT Subject Test for Mathematics level 2 followed by Physics. In case the tie is not broken by the above consideration then the date of birth of the applicants will be compared and the older applicant will be given higher merit.

 

DASA Cutoff 2018

The authorities will release the cutoff of DASA 2018. The candidates will be able to check the SAT score cutoff for allotment of seats into the participating institutes of DASA 2018. The cutoff will be different for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG) and Non-CIWG candidates. The candidates will also have to note that the cutoff for each institute and course will also be different.

 

DASA Counselling 2018

The counselling will be conducted as per the choices made by the candidates in the application form of DASA 2018. An applicant appearing higher on merit list would get higher priority in allotment of course/ Institution of their choices as compared to an applicant appearing lower in the merit list. In case, institute/course of first preference indicated by the applicant is not available, then candidates will be allotted the second round of counselling. Applicants who have not been allotted any seats will be eligible for Round II, Round III and Round IV as per the vacancies.

 

DASA Seat Allotment 2018

The seat allotment process of DASA 2018 will be conducted online. Candidates will not be sent any individual call letters by the authority. DASA 2018 seat allotment will be done based on the SAT scores of the candidates and filled choices. The allotted candidates will have the option of either accepting the allotted seat or upgradation. Choices have to be confirmed within the specified time. If candidates fail to confirm their choice then will be disqualified.
