DASA 2017 - The VNIT, Nagpur offers admission through DASA 2017 to the candidates belonging from foreign nationals/PIOs/NRIs/OCI under the DASA scheme launched by MHRD, Government of India. All the interested candidates can fill their application form available online from April 01. The candidates need to send a valid SAT score and submit their form which has been extended till June 19. Through Direct Admission of Students from Abroad (DASA) 2017, candidates will be allotted seats in undergraduate engineering/architecture courses offered by NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other premier technical institutions in India. To be eligible for admission, the candidates are required to submit their SAT scores mentioning code 7035 before June 22, 2017, for selection in the first round of DASA Seat Allotment. Before registering, the candidates must read the Eligibility Criteria of DASA 2017 to check if they are eligible or not. The candidates can check the eligibility criteria down below.
The candidates born on or after October 01, 1991 will be considered eligible for admission. Only the date of birth mentioned in secondary education board/university (class X or equivalent) certificate will be verified.
The candidates must have qualified in SAT with a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT subjects test. The subjects will be Mathematics level 2, Physics and Chemistry. The score should be sent directly from college board to Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. While registering for SAT subjects test scores, the candidates are advised to indicate the institute code for sending the scores to the institute.
All the candidates must check the eligibility norms to apply for DASA 2017. In order to get admission in the engineering courses under DASA scheme, the candidates have to Create Account online by entering their email ID. The application number will be displayed on the screen and candidates will receive the login credentials in their registered email ID.
The online process of filling the DASA Application Form 2017 includes registration, filling and submitting the application form and paying the application fee. Firstly, the new registration will be done by the candidates. To register, the applicants have to make an account by entering the details such as email ID, captcha words. An email will be sent to the email ID for the completion of registration. Click on the link provided in the mail and fill the required details like applicant ID, password. After filling all the details, the registration will be completed. An applicant ID and password will be used to log in.
Filling and Submission of DASA Application Form:
Using the applicant ID and password, the candidates must log in and select any number of preferences of any institute or courses as per the priority of the candidate. After filling the important details in the application form, the candidates will upload the passport size photograph, signature and scanned copies of relevant documents, as per the specifications. All the applicants are advised to check the details, as once the form will be submitted, the details cannot be modified. If the candidates will be satisfied they must submit the form. Download the application form and take a print out of it for the future references.
DASA Application Fees
The application fee must be paid by all the candidates through debit/credit cards or through SWIFT transfers. The application fee includes the registration charges and first-semester tuition fees as well. If any candidates fail in paying the fees, it will lead to cancellation of candidature. Documents to be submitted with DASA 2017 Application Form
In the application, along with the photograph and signature, the candidates must upload the following relevant documents.
As per the provisions of All India Council for Technical Education, there will be one third seat reserved for the Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG). However, if the seats under CIWG category left vacant it will be reverted to the quota of 2/3 for other categories of DASA 2017. The eligibility for such candidates will be same that of NRIs. The candidates will have to pay USD 300 as registration fee and USD 700 as first-semester tuition fee.

DASA 2017 Merit List
The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, will prepare a merit list on the basis of the total marks in SAT Subject Test Scores. Only the candidates whose scores will be received by the NIT Nagpur on or before June 12, 2017, directly from college board will be considered for merit list and seat allotment process. In case, SAT scores of two or more candidates will be equal, an inter-se merit process/tie-braking mechanism will be applied for such candidates, which is mentioned below. However, the final decision for allotting the higher marks will be done by DASA core committee.
The candidates who will be included in the merit list will be eligible for DASA Counselling 2017. In the counselling process, the seats will be allotted to the candidates as per their ranks and preferences filled in the DASA Application Form. A candidate with higher will be given higher priority in counselling as compared to the candidates with lower ranks. If the seats in the first institute of the choices are not available, such candidates will be granted admission in the 2nd preference. Any candidates who will not be allotted seats in counselling round 1, will be indicated as not allotted and will be allotted seats in the subsequent rounds.
To be eligible for the admission in allotted institutes, after DASA 2017 Counselling sessions, the candidates must have a visa issued by Indian Missions abroad, which should be applicable to their category. The candidates can obtain the visa by furnishing the provisional allotment letter and other relevant information at Indian Missions abroad in their respective countries.
In the seat allotment of DASA 2017, the candidates will be granted admissions as per their rank and choices of institutes referred. The seat allotment process will be done in five rounds including spot admission round. The applicants who filled the application form available from April 01 to June 12, 2017, successfully will be allowed for the allotment of seats. The first round will commence from June 19, 2017. The allotment for the first rounds will be available online. No individual intimation letter will be sent to the candidates. Applicants who will be allotted seats in their first choice of an institute/course will have two options, either to accept the seat or to decline it. Other candidates, who will be allotted seats in courses/institutes other than their choices can select three options, which are:
Accept- The candidates satisfied with the seat and do not want any other up-gradations, can click on 'Accept'. In such cases, the provisional allotment letter will be generated on the screen. Candidates are advised to download the letter for future references.
Accept and Upgrade- If the candidates will be accepting the seat but desires for up-gradation of seats in round 2, must click on 'Accept and Upgrade'
Decline- If the candidates do not wish to participate in DASA 2017 Seat Allotment process, then they should click on 'Decline' and seat cancellation/withdrawal letter will be generated.
