The Class XII examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which usually takes place from the 1st week of March have been postponed due to the upcoming assembly election. As per the latest date sheet published by the Board, the exam will commence from March 09 and it will continue till April 29, 2017. On the other hand, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is scheduled to be held on April 02, 08 and 09, 2017. This collision between the two exams has given rise to anxiety among the students.
Many students preparing for JEE Main along with Class XII exam is stressed that they will not get enough time to prepare for the entrance test. As the Chemistry paper is scheduled to be held on March 25, followed by Computer science on March 27, they will not have even a week to prepare for JEE Main 2017.
After the conclusion of Class XII exam, students get a two week period to revise for JEE Main paper during which they practice mock test and solve sample papers. But this year, as both the exams have been placed in closed dates, students will not get enough time to prepare for the entrance test.
However, the Board claimed that all possible efforts have been made to ensure that candidates get reasonable time gap between both the exams. They have also released a notification which reads “The Board has given careful consideration to the situation before postponing the exams by a week, which will now allow students to get more time for the preparation and ensure uninterrupted sequence of examinations.”
Even though the students from the humanities background are quite content with the timetable, students from the science stream are now in a fix regarding the delay and have expressed their concern commenting that the date sheet could have been sorted out in a better way.
As per the latest notification of Joint Admission Board (JAB), it is being expected that the pattern of JEE Main may have some significant changes from the session 2017.
