GATE Application Form 2018: IIT Guwahati has activated GATE application form correction window for change in exam centres from November 13 to 17. Candidates who wish to change the choices of examination city given in GATE 2018 application have to make a payment of Rs. 400. The window to modify Gender/ Category/ PwD status in GATE application form 2018 was available until October 28. The last date to fill GATE application form was October 9, 2017 (8 pm). The application process involved six steps- GATE registration 2018, filling GATE 2018 application form details, uploading scanned photograph and documents, review of filled in details, fee payment and submission of the form. Applicants had to send the GATE application form 2018 to the examination authority or any of the 8 zonal GATE offices. Candidates had the option of selecting up to three exam centres at the time of filling up GATE 2018 application form; two from the same zone while the third from another. The GATE application form 2018 fee had to be paid online. GATE 2018 will be conducted in the online mode on February 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2018 for admission to M.E./M.Tech/Ph.D offered in IITs/NITs/CFITs and PSUs recruitment. The GATE 2018 application form process had started online on August 31. Candidates were able to fill and submit the application form till October 9, 2017. Applicants will also have the opportunity to make changes to their application till November 17 by paying an extra fee.

The GATE application form 2018 status can be checked by candidates who have successfully registered for GATE 2018. Only those candidates whose applications need to be rectified in photo/signature/supporting documents will be contacted by email and SMS.
Steps to check GATE application form 2018 status:
Candidates can make changes in exam centres by logging in through GOAPS from November 13 to 17, 2017. Candidates have to pay an amount of Rs 400 to make the change. Candidates were able to make correction of Gender/Category/PwD status in the GATE application form 2018 until October 28. To make changes and to verify the email ID and mobile number candidates were required to log in to the GOAPS portal and then click on “Change Personal Data”. Candidates who desired to make corrections in the GATE 2018 application were asked to request through registered email ID to the respective zonal GATE office. While correcting details in GATE application form candidates had to send the email requesting ‘Correction in data (enter enrollment number as well the type of correction)’ given below along with the scanned copy of proof. While correcting application form candidates had to pay the requisite fee.

Step 1. GATE 2018 Registration Process
Eligible applicants were required to register online to apply for GATE 2018. To register, students should have entered valid email ID, mobile number and create a GOAPS password. The candidates received all the registration details on their registered email ID. Candidates must use only GATE 2018 user id and password for filling GATE application form
GOAPS Enrollment ID – Registered candidates get the GOAPS Enrollment ID on their email address. They can access the GATE application form 2018 through it ID.
Step 2. GATE 2018 application form: Submitting details and centre selection
To fill GATE application form 2018 candidates must enter the enrolment ID and password provided to them during registration. In the application form candidates must enter the following details:
Images of the photograph and signature taken using a mobile phone will not be accepted by the authority and might lead to cancellation of GATE application form 2018.

GATE 2018 Application Form: Signature requirement

Step 4. GATE Application Form 2018 - Edit/Preview Process
Candidates can edit the application form of GATE 2018 before final submission. No option for rectification will be made available after payment. Only changes in examination centre will be allowed till November 17, 2017.
Step 5. GATE Application Form 2018 - Payment of Fees
The application fee of GATE 2018 for general category candidates is Rs. 1500. The fee can be paid online only through debit card, credit card and net banking. Overseas applicants have to pay through net banking or credit card.

Step 6. Final Submission of GATE Application form 2018
Before submitting the GATE 2018 application form, candidates must ensure that all the details and all the necessary documents and images uploaded correctly. Candidates must ensure that there are no errors while submitting the GATE application form.
In case candidates forget their GATE 2018 enrolment ID or password, they can follow steps given to recover their lost enrolment ID or password.
Forgot enrollment id or not received their enrollment id via email – The candidates will have to select this option on the GATE official website and submit their registered mobile number and password. The GATE enrollment ID will be sent via SMS to the candidate’s registered mobile number.
Forgot Password – Applicants can recover the same by providing their GATE 2018 enrollment ID. The password will be sent to their registered mobile number.
Forgot both Enrollment ID and Password –In this case, the candidate who has paid the fees must contact their respective zonal office. If the candidate has not paid then they will have to register themselves.

GATE 2018 is a postgraduate level engineering entrance test conducted for admission to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and other technical institutes. The exam is also used for the recruitment process at major Public Sector Units (PSU) like GAIL, NTPC, ONGC and HAL among others. GATE scores are valid for three years. GATE 2018 on all the above mentioned four dates will be conducted in two sessions - the forenoon session which starts from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and the afternoon session to be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A candidate is allowed to appear in only one paper in any one session of GATE 2018.
Q. Can I use one email address to fill multiple application forms?
Ans: Candidates can use only one email address to submit one GATE 2018 application form.
Q. Why should I choose three examination cities?
Ans: Candidates must choose three GATE exam centres 2018 according to their preferences. The most desired city must be chosen first and then other two cities. Candidates are possibly allotted their first choice. However, in cases where there are too many candidates opting for the same exam centre, the other two choices shall be considered.
Q. How will I make the payment of the application fees of GATE 2018?
Ans: Candidates can pay the application fees through online payment gateway- debit card/credit card or net banking only. International applicants must pay through net banking or credit card only.
Q. I want to change my allotted exam centre. But I have submitted the online application form. Can I change the exam city?
Ans: Yes, the organizing committee, IIT Guwahati will provide the facility to rectify the examination city after submission of GATE application form until November 17.
Q. In which mode can I avail the GATE 2018 application form?
Ans: GATE application form will be available only in the online mode. IIT Guwahati will not release any offline application form of GATE.
Q. My net banking account has been debited more than once. How do I get the money back?
Ans: Candidates will be refunded any unaccounted or excess money that was received on behalf of GATE 2018. The authority will automatically credit the amount to the same bank account. However, transferring money may take a week or more, after the end of GATE application process.
Q. Do I have to send the print-out of the application form?
Ans: Candidates must not send their print out of the GATE application form to the organizing institute, (IIT Guwahati) or any other GATE zonal offices.
Q. After completing the online application process and generating a PDF file, will I be able to change my application data?
Ans: After submission of GATE application form 2018, candidates can only download the application form and cannot modify the details entered in GATE application.
Q. I did not take a print-out of my online application at the end of my application process. How will I get access to it?
