GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018: The eligibility criteria of GCET 2018 are the norms defined by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa. As per GCET eligibility criteria 2018, candidates must be citizens of India and their age must not be less than 17 years as on December 31, 2018. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport can apply for seats reserved under NRI category. The minimum qualification required to be eligible for GCET is passing class 12 or any other equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from Goa state board or CBSE board. In the qualifying examination, candidates must secure a minimum 45% (40% for applicants belonging OBC/SC and ST categories). Before filling the application form aspirants must make sure that they are eligible for the entrance examination scheduled to be held on May 8 and 9, 2018. Only those candidates who fulfill GCET eligibility criteria 2018 can appear in the entrance test and admission processes. GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018

DTE Goa will conduct Goa CET or GCET 2018 on May 8 and 9 in pen and paper based mode for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programmes. Before filling the application form of GCET 2018, candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria of GCET 2018 prescribed by the exam conducting.

Nationality: Candidates should Indian nationals. Candidates who are not having domicile or the citizenship certificate will not be eligible to apply for GCET 2018.

Age requirements: There is no age limit for candidates applying for any engineering programme.

Domicile requirements: Candidates must have resided for a minimum period of 10 years. Candidates applying for concession in this must submit proof as specified

Examination Board: An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board

Qualifying marks: Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (class XII) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. Applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC category must have secured 40%.

 

GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018: Kashmiri Migrants

Candidates who belong to the Kashmiri migrants category should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Class XII) examination or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio Technology/Computer Science/Biology

 

GCET Eligibility Criteria 2018: B.Sc degree holder

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std 10+2 at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, shall be eligible for admission to first year of engineering degree courses, subject to vacancies.

 

GCET Reservation Criteria 2018

Candidates will have to choose their category while filling the GCET application form 2018. Candidates will have to provide a document certificate for their category as a proof during counselling and admission process.

SC Category (2%): There are 5 castes mentioned below which will be considered under the list of Scheduled Castes in the State of Goa. Candidates belonging to below mentioned castes will have to provide the caste certificate from Competent Authority with the view to avail all the benefits in Goa CET reservation criteria.

SC Category (12%): There are eight castes mentioned below. If there are candidates belonging any of these castes, they will be considered for the reservation benefits under Scheduled Caste in the State of Goa. Candidates belonging to this category, have to provide the caste certificate from Competent Authority for availing all the benefits in Goa CET 2018 reservation criteria.

Applicants belonging to this category will have to provide the caste certificate from Competent Authority for availing all the benefits.

About GCET 2018 – GCET is a state level examination conducted by DTE Goa every year for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes. Through GCET, around 5 engineering institutes in Goa will fill nearly 350 seats in 5 engineering branches. GCET or Goa CET 2018 will be held on May 8 and 9 in around 15 cities of Goa.
