Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi is offering admissions into the UG engineering courses. IIIT Delhi 2015 admissions for the session 2015-16 will be conducted by Joint Allocation Board (JAC) Delhi. The counselling for IIIT Delhi has already started from 2 July 2015. IIIT Delhi 2015 Reservation of Seats

IIIT Delhi offers admissions into B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). There is a total of 110 seats in CSE and 70 in ECE. There is a reservation of 80% for the candidates belonging to Delhi. The seats are further divided into categories and sub-categories.

The categories are as follow:

i. General
ii. Scheduled Tribe
iii. Scheduled Caste
iv. Other Backward Class

The sub-categories are as follow:
i. Differently Able Persons
ii. Defence
iii. Kashmiri Migrants
iv. Single Girl Child
v. No subcategory
vi. Central Board/State Board Topper

IIIT Delhi 2015 B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the application form, candidates must read the eligibility criteria to understand if they are eligible to participate or not. Eligibility is a set of terms and conditions that is defined in the aspects of age, education, domicile, and category. Every candidate must read all these terms and make sure that they are met. Following are the points regarding eligibility in IIIT 2015 Admissions for B.Tech.

  • Candidate must pass class XII or any equivalent exam from a state or central recognized education board.
  • He must score at least 80% or more marks in five aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • These five subjects include physics, math, chemistry and other two optional subjects.
  • He must score at least 80% or more marks in math individually.
  • Candidate’s age must be in between 17-25 years as on 1 October 2015.
  • Marks achieved in JEE Main 2015 paper 1 and class XII would be considered as well.
  • He must fulfill all the terms mentioned in the JEE Main 2015 eligibility criteria.
  • It is necessary to achieve a valid score and rank in JEE 2015.

IIIT Delhi B.Tech 2015 Selection Process

Selection of the candidates will be held against JEE Main 2015 and class XII scores. As stated above, 60% weightage will be given to JEE Main scores, whereas, rest will be given to class XII scores. Apart from this, 10 extra credit/ bonus points will be given to with-holders/ qualifiers/ participants etc any of the mentioned below:

  • Sports
  • Culture
  • Olympiads
  • Chess - FIDE rating players
  • National Talent Search scholarship
  • Procon Junior Programming Contest
  • Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

IIIT Delhi B.Tech 2015 Application Form

To apply for the admissions in IIIT-D, candidates are required to fill two application forms:

  • JEE Main 2015 Application Form
  • IIIT-D 2015 Application Form

The former has been released already by CBSE while the latter would be issued in 1st week of July 2015. Candidates have to fill the Application of IIIT-Delhi 2015 in online mode as no physical/offline form would be issued. All the details must be filled correctly and completely else it would be rejected in the final screening process. Before final submission, candidates must check all the details and make necessary edits. You have to pay the application fees along with filling of the form.

IIIT Delhi 2015 Application Fee

The application fee can be paid through e-challan and Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking. The candidates can follow the steps to pay the application fee. For the payment of the application fee through e-challan:

i. Download the e-challan from the website.
ii. Payment can be done at any SBI Branch.
iii. Once the payment is made, visit the website and enter the e-challan payment details.

Note: The last date for submission of application fee via e-challan is tomorrow i.e. 10 July 2015.

For the payment of the application form through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking:
i. Click on the appropriate link for payment.
ii. On clicking, the candidate will be automatically directed to the bank’s gateway.
iii. Once the payment process is over, the candidate will be directed back to the counselling website.
iv. Take a print out of the receipt for future use.

IIIT Delhi 2015 B.Tech Cutoff

Based on various factors such as reservation norms, previous year admission trends, opening and closing ranks of courses, merit list, candidate to seat ratio, and exam difficulty level, cutoff will be decided by the counselling board. It is the least marks a candidate must achieve to feature in the merit list. Cutoff is decided on the basis of JEE Main 2015 scores and ranking. You can check the cutoff of last year to have an idea of the feasibility of admission in the desired course.

IIIT Delhi 2015 B.Tech Result

Result of the admission process will be declared in the form of a merit list. This list would contain names of those candidates who cross the benchmark of cutoff scores and make themselves eligible for counselling and seat allotment. In the decreasing order of marks, these candidates would be arranged. Decreasing marks implies increasing rank. Result can be seen at the official website of the institute by entering the application number and JEE Main 2015 roll number. We will update the merit list of IIIT Delhi 2015 once the official authority releases it. Basis of merit list:

  • Marks in JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 and score of class XII, converted to base of 60 and 40 respectively as per the normalization method.
  • For Delhi applicants - Direct conversion of class XII marks.
  • For outside Delhi applicants - JEE Main 2015 Normalized Marks.
  • Bonus marks as defined above (maximum of 10 marks).

IIIT Delhi 2015 B.Tech Counselling and Seat Allotment

  • Counselling schedule will be released on the official website of IIIT-D.
  • Selected candidates can check the merit list to see if they are included or not.
  • Seats shall be offered on the basis of merit list and candidate’s category.
  • Candidates from Delhi are required to be present at the counselling venue.
  • However, candidates from outside Delhi need not be present at the venue.
  • Once the seats are filled, a waiting list shall be created.
  • Candidates in the waiting list will be offered allotment against the resultant vacancies.
  • There shall be a total of four rounds of counselling.
  • Allotment would consider merit list ranking and bonus marks.
  • You must report to the allotted institute within the deadline to confirm the allotment.
