IISc BS Eligibility Criteria 2018

For admission into the Bachelor of Science (Research) programme offered by IISc, Bangalore, candidates have to meet all the requirements stated in IISc BS eligibility Criteria 2018. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for IISc BS admissions below:

  1. Qualifying examination- Candidates who have completed their II PUC / class XII in 2017 are eligible for admission. Students appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply.

  2. Subject combination- Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects in the qualifying exam. Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., in addition to the main subjects mentioned above are also eligible to apply.

  3. Qualifying percentage- In II PUC/ class XII exam student must secure 60% or equivalent grade. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category, minimum qualifying marks is not applicable. However, they have to pass the qualifying examination.

IISc BS Application Form 2018

Students have to fill the application form of IISc BS in the online mode. The application fee for GN/ OBC/ KM candidates is Rs. 500 while those belonging to ST/ SC/ PH category have to pay Rs. 250. Applicants can pay the application fee through visa card, debit/ credit card or through net banking. To successfully apply for IISc BS admission 2018 candidates have to complete all the steps given below:

IISc BS Selection Procedure 2018

Admission at IISc Bangalore will be offered to eligible candidates based on the merit list of any one of the following national examinations:

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

  1. Candidates who have appeared in KVPY under streams SA in 2016, SX and SB stream in 2017 and have been selected for the fellowship.

  2. SX Fellows selected through the Empowerment Initiative for SC/ST candidates

JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ NEET- Candidates appearing in JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ NEET in 2018 and secure the minimum qualifying percentage given in the table below:

IISc BS Merit List 2018

IISc BS merit list 2018 will be prepared by IISc Bangalore for each of the national examinations and seats will be offered based on candidates’ performance in the examination and the number of seats available. Candidates who have qualified in multiple examinations will be included in all the appropriate IISc BS merit list. Separate merit list of IISc BS will also be prepared for candidates belonging to different reserved categories.

IISc BS Counselling 2018

IISc BS will conduct the counselling of IISc BS 2018 in the third week of July. The counselling will be carried in IISc, Bangalore campus. It is mandatory for all selected candidates to participate in IISc BS counselling for confirming their seats. At the time of counselling, candidates have to produce the offer letters sent to them through mail along with the scorecard of the exam they appeared for - JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/NEET. For admission through KVPY, candidates have to produce a copy of the offer letter and provisional fellowship award letter from KVPY at the time of IISc BS 2018 counseling.
