On the basis of the JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) scores of candidates who have applied for admissions to the B.Tech and Dual Degree Programmes that are offered at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), separate rank lists will be compiled. A total of five rank lists will be issued by the Institute for the General category, OBC (NCL) category, SC category, ST category and PD category respectively. Based on the rank lists that have been compiled, selected candidates will be called in for admission counselling. The IIST Counselling for admissions to the B.Tech degree courses for the upcoming year is likely to be held during the month of July 2016. Soon after the counselling has been held, the IIST Allotment List will be released.

The Allotment List of IIST will be made public at the official website of the Institute i.e iist.ac.in .Only the names of candidates whose eligibility has been confirmed during the counselling procedure will be enlisted in the IIST Allotment List. The list will indicate the branch to which the candidate has been allotted a confirmed seat. Candidates, who are offered a confirmed seat as per the IIST 2016 Allotment List, will have to submit all their original documents to the Institute. The original documents will have to be submitted on the day of counselling itself, in order to freeze the seat.

The Institute will also publish a separate Allotment List for candidates who are offered Provisional admission. Such candidates will have to report to any of the four counselling centres that will be set up at Bangalore, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Kolkata and submit all their original documents before the last specified date. The admissions of candidates, who fail to submit their documents before the last date given, will be automatically cancelled. After the Confirmed/Provisional IIST Allotment List has been released, a Wait-List for the remaining candidates will also be issued. Candidates whose names have been enlisted in the Wait-List will be considered for admissions only if seats have not been filled in through the Main Allotment List of IIST. Such candidates can deposit their original certificates later after their seat has been confirmed.
