JEE Advanced 2018 - The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) is a national level examination. JEE Advanced 2018 to be held on May 20 in computer-based test (CBT) mode. JEE Advanced is conducted by the 7 zonal IITs under the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). For the academic session 2018-19, JEE Advanced will be administered by IIT Kanpur. JEE Advanced is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in the 23 IITs including ISM Dhanbad. It is the second stage of the Joint Entrance examination and only the top 2,24,000 JEE Main rank holders are shortlisted to appear in JEE Advanced 2018. Registration for JEE Advanced will be done online and it is likely to start in the last week of April 2018. IIT JEE Advanced 2018 consists of two compulsory papers- paper 1 and paper 2. Both the papers will have objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In 2017, JEE Advanced was held in around 120 cities across the country and 6 foreign countries. The application form of JEE Advanced 2018 will be available online in April. JEE Advanced application procedure involves three basic steps. Aspirants have to complete all the steps mentioned below to successfully apply for JEE Advanced 2018:
Filling JEE Advanced application form- Candidates have to log in with their JEE Advanced roll number and password. In the form, applicants have to fill their personal, academic and contact details.
Uploading scanned images- Candidates have to upload scanned copies of all the requisite documents in the specified format.
JEE Advanced application fee payment- The application fee can be paid online through SBI debit card/ net banking or in the offline mode through e-challan.

JEE Advanced admit card will be issued to all successfully registered candidates in the second week of May 2018. JEE Advanced admit card 2018 will be released online and to download it candidates have to enter their registration number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID on the login page. The admit card of JEE Advanced will consist details about the exam date and time, address of the exam centre, roll number, candidates name, date of birth etc. Candidates have to take a print out of JEE Advanced 2018 admit card and take it along with them to the exam centre.
Till 2017, JEE Advanced was held in pen and paper (P&P) based mode. This year, for the very first time, IIT Kanpur, the conducting authority will conduct JEE Advanced in the computer-based test mode. Some aspects of JEE Advanced question paper such as number of papers, subjects, question type, language medium and duration are announced before the examination. Candidates who qualify to appear for JEE Advanced 2018 must practice from the JEE Advanced sample papers to know about the type of questions they can expect in the examination. After covering the entire syllabus prescribed for JEE Advanced 2018 candidates must solve sample papers to prepare effectively for the examination.
As JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted in the CBT mode for the first time, JAB will release the mock test for practice. JEE Advanced mock test 2018 will be introduced for aspirants to get familiar with the CBT mode of the examination. By taking the mock test candidates will know about various aspects of the entrance test such as how to navigate through questions, how to answer questions, changing of responses to name a few. Candidates are advised to practice JEE Advanced mock test 2018 to get a prior experience of the entrance test.
The answer key of JEE Advanced 2018 is expected to be published in the first week of June 2018. The JEE Advanced answer is released both the official body and coaching institutes. The answer key of JEE Advanced comprises correct responses to all the questions asked in the examination. By comparing the answers marked by candidates in the entrance test with that of JEE Advanced 2018 answer key candidates can calculate their probable score. In case candidates find any discrepancy in JEE Advanced answer key they can send their feedback and comments within the specified period of time.
JEE Advanced result is likely to be announced by IIT Kanpur in the second week of June 2018. The result of JEE Advanced 2018 will be declared online and candidates can download it by entering their registration number and date of birth. The result will consist the scores obtained by candidates in paper 1 and paper 2 of JEE Advanced. The All India rank and category wise rank secured by candidates will also be mentioned in JEE Advanced result 2018.
JEE Advanced rank list will be published along with the result. Only those candidates who have appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2018 will be considered for ranking. JEE Advanced rank list 2018 will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. If in case, two or more candidates secure the same aggregate mark, the tie-breaking resolution will be used to assign the ranks.
The cutoff of JEE Advanced is the minimum percentage that candidates have to secure to qualify the entrance test. Only those candidates who will secure the minimum percentage defined for each subject as well as in aggregate will be considered for the rank list. JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment of the qualified candidates for admission to the 23 IITs including ISM Dhanbad will be done by the Joint Seat allocation Authority (JoSAA). The registration and choice filling for JEE Advanced counselling 2018 will commence in the third week of June 2018. The counselling of JEE Advanced 2018 includes online registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, seat acceptance, fee payment and reporting to the allotted colleges.
The participating institutes of JEE Advanced 2018 list out the names of the institutes which will offer admission to the qualified candidates in various undergraduate engineering courses. Through JEE Advanced, the prestigious 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) including ISM Dhanbad will fill around 11,000 B.tech seats.
