JEE Main Paper 1 was conducted for B.E./B.Tech courses aspirants in the morning session from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm, whereas, the exam for B.Arch/B.Plan candidates was paper 2 which was conducted in the afternoon session from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm. JEE Main 2017 Analysis by Career Point

In JEE Main 2017, the paper 1 includes 30 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The level of the questions in the entrrance test will be held by CBSE. JEE Main 2017 Subject-wise question paper

  • Some questions were similar to previous year’s papers.
  • Some questions were simple conceptual questions but lengthy in calculation.

  • 50% questions were average, 47% were easy & 3% questions were difficult.
  • Overall paper was easy as compared to previous year papers.


  • Physical & inorganic parts were quite similar to the previous year paper.
  • Organic part was difficult and had few logical questions.
  • One question of inorganic part contained incorrect data.
  • All the topics were as per the NCERT syllabus.
  • 73.33% questions were average, 23.3% were easy & 3.3% questions were difficult.
  • Overall chemistry paper is above average and more scoring compared to last year’s paper


  • In comparison to the previous year Paper of JEE Main, the mathematic section was lengthy.
  • Some of the questions specifically from Coordinate geometry were very lengthy.
  • One questions from Mathematical Reasoning was there which is only in JEE Main syllabus.
  • 63.4% questions was average, 20% was easy & 16.6% questions was difficult.
