The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national level entrance test conducted by CBSE every year in both online and offline mode. CBSE will conduct JEE Main offline paper on April 8 while JEE Main 2018 in CBT mode will be held on April 15 and 16. The entrance examination is divided into two papers – Paper 1 is for B.Tech/B.E and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning. Candidates can appear for either paper 1, 2 or both depending on what they opt at the time of filling the application form. Through JEE Main, the 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, 20 GFTIs and other Institutes funded by participating state Governments offers admission into various undergraduate engineering programmes. Also, JEE Main is the gateway to appear for JEE Advanced for admission into 23 IITs.

How to Download JEE Main 2018 Admit Card?

Step 2: You will be redirected to the JEE Main official page. The login page will appear on the screen.

Step 3: On the login page, enter application number, date of birth, security pin and click on submit button.

Problems in downloading JEE Main Admit Card 

Candidates cannot download their admit card due to the following reasons.

Case 1: Incomplete/wrong details like user id, password/date of birth

Case 2: Low internet speed

Case 3: Entering incorrect credentials

Case 4: If application form of JEE Main 2018 is not filled/submitted completely

How to download JEE Main Admit Card 2018 in case of name mismatch?

In case candidates' name does not match as that given on the application form they cannot download admit card. In case of discrepancy/mismatch of candidates' name in JEE Main 2018 application form compared to their board data CBSE will provide one-time correction opportunity to correct their names. After those candidates can download JEE admit card. The correction facility to resolve name discrepancy in JEE Main 2018 will be available in the second week of January.

How to download JEE Main Admit Card 2018 in case of wrong image?

Candidates are advised to upload correct images photograph and signature as per the required dimension. If they failed to do so they will be unable to submit the application form. And if their application form has been accepted they will not be allowed to appear in the exam if their photograph is not same as on their identity cards. Candidates are advised to correct their uploaded images. The facility to correct images in JEE Main application form 2018 was available till January 2.

Forgot application number or password – How to download admit card?

To download JEE main hall ticket 2018 candidates must have their application/registration number and password. In case candidates have forgotten their JEE Main application/registration number and password they can retrieve it through following steps.

Case 1: How to know JEE Main 2018 application number in case you forget it

In order to retrieve forgotten login credentials like application number, go to log in page and click on link that says ‘I can’t access my account’. After clicking on the link you will be redirected to forgot application number page on which you have to fill the required following details to get forgotten JEE Main application number. After submitting the request JEE Main application number will be sent to registered mail id.

  • Candidate’s Name

Case 2: How to retrieve JEE Main 2018 password

Go to log in page and click on the link that says ‘I can’t access my account’. After that choose ‘I forgot my Password’ to get your JEE Main 2018 lost password. Candidates can get it through any of the following methods.

  • Using security question & its answer you chose during form filling

  • Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your registered mobile number

  • Using a reset link sent via email to your registered email address

Why to preserve JEE Main 2018 admit card after the exam?

Candidates are advised to preserve their admit card because of following reasons.

  1. For appearing in exam: Candidates who possess the admit card will be allowed to take the exam

  2. Checking other details: The details mentioned in admit card can be used for checking official answer key, result and cut off

  3. Admission process: Candidates have to show their admit card while admission to allotted colleges

What to carry with JEE Main admit card on the exam day?

Things not allowed to carried by candidates in JEE Main 2018 exam: Any textual material, calculators, documents, pens, slide rules, log tables, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other device

Examination Instruction printed on JEE Main 2018 admit card:

  1. Check in the JEE Main admit card 2018 carefully for your name, course, date of birth, gender state of eligibility, category and question paper medium. In case of any discrepancy, communicate to CBSE immediately for necessary action

  2. Candidates will be provided with a black ballpoint pen in the examination hall room so candidates are not allowed to carry any type of pen/pencil in the JEE Main examination hall/room. Candidates should use only this pen to write particulars on test booklet answer sheet and darkening the circles of response

  3. All the JEE Main examination hall/room will be having wall clock so the candidates are not allowed to wear/carry any type of watch in the examination hall/room

  4. Candidates are requested to visit the venue of test, a day before the examination so as to reach in time on the day of examination. The request for change of JEE Main 2018 exam centre will not be entertained. The candidates will be permitted to appear at allotted venue of test only. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination at any other centre. The candidate will be allotted a seat in the examination hall.

  5. Candidates must be present at the examination centre by 7 am (IST) for JEE Main Paper-1 and by 12:45 pm (IST) for JEE Main Paper 2

  6. No candidate in any case will be allowed to enter at the JEE Main exam centre after the commencement of the examination in each paper.

  7. No candidate without JEE Main 2018 admit card will be allowed to sit in the examination by the Centre Superintendent.

  8. Candidates must preserve admit card till the allotment of seat in College/Institution.

  9. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before conclusion of the test and without handing over the answer sheet to the invigilator concerned

  10. Candidates should check and ensure that the test booklet contains as many numbers of pages as written on top of the cover page

  11. The following cases will be treated under unfair means and the results of such candidates will not be declared:

    • Candidates found with any electronic devices/cellular phone/mobile/pager/calculator/log tables/copying material/books/notebooks/bits of paper etc.

    • Candidates found talking to each other or discussing any matter during the examination. The candidates disturbing other candidates in the examination room/hall and not maintaining complete silence.

    • Students found removing any pages from the JEE Main test booklet and if any pages is/are found missing from his/her test booklet.

    • Candidates not following the instructions given by the invigilators in the examination hall/room and found arguing with the invigilators/other staff involved in the examination duty at the examination centre.

    • Candidates found sitting on the seat other than that allotted to them or appearing at other centres than that mentioned on the admit card.

  12. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as contained in the information bulletin.

  13. JEE Main admit card is issued provisionally to the candidate subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility condition.

  14. On completion of the test candidates must handover the answer sheets to the invigilator in the room/hall and take away with them only the test booklet

  15. For JEE Main 2018 paper 2 exam candidate must bring their own geometry box set pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons. The candidates are not allowed to use water colours on Drawing Sheet.

  16. The Physically Challenged (PwD) candidates must carry a copy of the disability certificate in the prescribed format as at appendix 10 provided in the information brochure

JEE Main Exam Centres: JEE Main is held across India, including abroad. Students should fill the city of their choice on their application form. It is important for candidates to choose four centers when it comes to offline exam and one center for the online exam. JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in 258 cities across 36 states and union territories in India. In addition, there will be 10 exam centers abroad. Candidates must choose the exam centers carefully as any request for change related to the examination center will not be entertained later .
