JEE Main Application Form 2018 JEE Main Application Form 2018 - Registration for JEE Main 2018 will be done online by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Main Application Form 2018 - Documents Required

Before filling up the application form of JEE Main 2018, candidates are advised to keep the following documents/details ready:

  • Scanned copies of passport sized photograph and signature
  • Class X documents
  • Class XII documents
  • Aadhaar card
  • Passport number/Bank account number/Voter ID card/Ration card number etc.
  • Debit/Credit card or e-Challan details (For making fee payment)
  • Valid email ID and phone number

How to fill JEE Main Application Form 2018

The application process of JEE Main 2018 will be carried out in the online mode. Candidates have to follow the following five steps to successfully fill and submit JEE Main application form 2018:

  1. Registration
  2. Filling up of application form
  3. Uploading of scanned images
  4. Payment of JEE Main 2018 application fee
  5. Print out of confirmation page

I. JEE Main Registration

Candidates have to click on the link which will be provided here as soon as the registration window gets activated. On the JEE Main 2018 registration page, the following details must be entered:

  • Nationality
  • State of eligibility
  • Identification type
  • Identification number
  • Candidate’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Enter security pin
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button

II. Filling up of JEE Main Application Form 2018

Upon successful registration, candidates will be redirected to the application page in which they have to enter the following details:

Exam related details- Candidates have to enter details about the course they are applying for, question paper medium and examination mode. After entering the preferred exam mode, the option to select JEE Main exam centre will appear on the screen. Candidates appearing for the pen and paper based examination have to choose four centres as per their preference whereas for CBT mode, candidates have to choose only one testing centre.

Personal Details- In this section, applicants have to enter their personal information such as name, parents name, state of eligibility, category, date of birth, gender, nationality etc. Candidates will also have to enter their Aadhaar number, mailing address and place of residence.

Academic Details- Applicants have to give in information about their qualifying examination such as their college/school name, marks obtained in class 12 or equivalent exam, year of passing class 10 and 12, address of the school etc. Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the year 2018 also have to enter details about their qualifying examination.

Communication Details- In this section, applicants need to provide their complete address, name of state, country, pin code, email address, mobile number etc.

Guardian Details- Applicants have to enter qualification, occupation and annual income details of their parents and Guardians.

Password Creation- Finally before submitting the JEE Main application form 2018, candidates need to choose their password which will be required for further signing in. Candidates will also have to enter a security question and answer which they can use to recover their password in case they forget it.

III. Uploading of Scanned Images

Candidates have to upload scanned images of their recent passport sized photograph and signature. Candidates must upload the scanned images with the specification given below:

After uploading the scanned images, candidates can click on the ‘Review’ button and make changes, if required. Otherwise, applicants can proceed to make pay the application fee.

IV. Payment of JEE Main Application Fee

It is mandatory for each and every candidate to make the payment of JEE Main 2018 application fee in order to validate the form. However, before making the payment, candidates must review their JEE Main application form 2018 by clicking on the ‘Review Application’ mode and make changes, if required. Once satisfied with all the data entered, candidates can proceed for the payment. Applicants have to select either Debit/Credit card or e-Challan as the payment mode and then click on the ‘Submit’ button. V. Print out of Confirmation Page

After making the payment, if the status of application fee payment is ‘OK’, candidates can take a print out of the acknowledgement page. Candidates must ensure to take a print out of the acknowledgement slip and keep it safe for future reference. The Acknowledgement slip is not required to be sent to JEE Main Secretariat. In case, the status of the payment is not ‘OK’ candidates have to undertake the following steps:

  • Payment made through electronic payment gateway might have been cancelled. Candidates will get back the amount within 7-10 days. Candidates will require to pay the fee amount again and make sure the status is shown OK.
  • Applicants making the payment through e-Challan have to contact the concerned bank to update their payment status

JEE Main Application Form 2018 Correction

In case, candidates have made a mistake while filling up the application form of JEE Main 2018, they will be allowed to rectify the same. Applicants have to make the correction online. Candidates will be allowed to change all the details, except change the mode of examination from Computer Based Test (CBT) to Pen and paper (P&P) mode. FAQs related to JEE Main Application Form 2018

Q. Can I submit JEE Main 2018 application form offline?

Ans. No, the application form is only available online and candidates cannot submit it via any other medium.

Q. How many centres do I need to select while filling the application form of JEE Main 2018?

Ans. Applicants can select a maximum number of four exam centres while filling the JEE Main application form 2018. JEE Main exam centre should be entered in the decreasing order of preference.

Q. The file size of the scanned copies of my photograph and signature exceeds the specified limit. What should I do?

Ans. Candidates have to compress the file to the size and dimension as specified and then upload it.

Q. What should I do if I have applied for both paper I and II but want to appear in either paper I or paper II?

Ans. It is not compulsory for candidates to appear in both the papers. Applicants can appear for the paper as per their choice.

Q. I forgot my JEE Main 2018 password. How do I retrieve it?

Ans. Candidates have to click on ‘I can’t access my account?’ button, choose ‘I forgot my password’ and then click on the ‘continue’ button. Candidates have to select any of the following options to reset their password.

  • Using security question and its answer you chosen during form filling
  • Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your registered mobile number
  • Using a reset link via Email to your registered Email address

Q. I forgot my JEE Main 2018 application number. How can I obtain my application number?

Ans. Candidates have to click on ‘I can’t access my account?’ button, select ‘I forgot my password’ and then click on the ‘continue’ button. To obtain the application number candidates have to enter the following information and then click on ‘Submit’ button:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Mother’s name
  • Father’s name
  • Date of birth
