JEE Main Application Form 2018 JEE Main Application Form 2018 - The online application form of JEE Main 2018 will open on December 1. Aspirants planning to appear for the exam can fill JEE Main application form till January 1, 2018 on the official website of JEE Main. Like last year, this year too CBSE has made Aadhaar number mandatory for aspirants to fill Jee Main application form 2018. However, candidates from Assam, Meghalaya and J&K do not have to mention their Aadhaar card number in JEE Main application form 2018 and can enter details of documents like Passport, Voter ID etc. JEE Main 2018 application form can be filled in five main steps including registration for the exam, filling personal and academic details, uploading images, payment of fee and taking printout of the confirmation page.

JEE Main application form 2018 – What do you need before application?

There are some information that applicants need to keep with before filling the JEE Main application form 2018. Applicants have to fill this details at the time of JEE Main registration 2018. The information relates to five major steps. They are:

Aadhaar - Aadhaar number, enrolment ID/registration number, Nationality, Domicile as per Passport, Name, DOB, Gender
ID proof (For Assam, Meghalaya and J&K candidates) - Number, Ration Card Number, Bank Account Number, any other valid Government ID Number
Examination - Exam Paper 1, Paper 2 or Paper 1 and 2 both, Mode - Pen paper or CBT, 4 exam centres, Medium of examination 
Personal (in max 46 characters) - Mother’s name, Father’s name, Category, Address, Scribe requirement 
Academic - Year of passing 10th, place of 12th schooling, Board, 12th roll number, Address of School, Type of institution (Government or private)
Contact - Email, Mobile Number, Landline number, 
Guardian - Parents’ qualification, occupation and annual income
Declaration - Declaration by candidate and guardian

How to fill JEE Main Application Form 2018

JEE Main registration 2018 can only be done in the online mode. Candidates have to follow the following five steps to successfully fill and submit JEE Main application form 2018:

  1. Registration

  2. Filling up of application form

  3. Uploading of scanned images

  4. Payment of JEE Main 2018 application fee

  5. Printout of confirmation page

Step 1: JEE Main Registration 2018

Entrance Corner will provide the link for JEE Main registration 2018 on this page. It will be activated as soon as the application window is active on the official site of JEE Main 2018 - jeemain.nic.in. On the JEE Main 2018 registration page, the following details must be entered:

Step 2: JEE Main Application Form 2018 filling

Upon successful registration, candidates will be redirected to the JEE Main application form 2018 page in which they have to enter the following details:

Examination:

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.)

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning)

  • JEE (Main) Paper - 1 & Paper –2 both

Exam centre: For pen paper mode, select upto 4 exam centres in the order of priority. CBT select only 1 exam centre.

Personal Details- Name, parents name, state of eligibility, category, date of birth, gender, nationality, complete mailing address

Academic Details- Marks obtained in class 12 or equivalent exam, year of passing class 10 and 12, address of the school, type of institution, Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination in the year 2018 also have to enter details about their qualifying examination.

Communication Details- Address, name of state, country, pin code, email address, mobile number etc.

Guardian Details- Applicants have to enter qualification, occupation and annual income details of their parents and Guardians.

Password Creation - Candidates have to choose their password which to be required for further signing in. Candidates will also have to enter a security question and answer which they can use to recover their password in case they forget it.

III. Uploading of Scanned Images

Candidates have to upload scanned images of their recent passport sized photograph and signature. Candidates must upload the scanned images with the specification given below:

The photograph should be in JPEG/JPG file format with dimension 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm The signature should be in JPEG/JPG file format with dimension 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm
The size of the file should be between 4 KB to 40 KB The size of the file should be between 1 KB to 30 KB
The photograph must be colour or black and white with clear contrast The signature must be done by the candidate only
The name and date of taking the photograph must be printed on it The signature of the candidates must match with one in class X and XII certificate.
The photograph should be without cap or goggles The signature of the candidates must be clearly visible.
Polaroid photographs are not acceptable  

After uploading the scanned images, candidates can click on the ‘Review’ button and make changes, if required. Otherwise, applicants can proceed to make pay the application fee.

IV. Payment of JEE Main Application Fee

It is mandatory for each and every candidate to make the payment of JEE Main 2018 application fee in order to validate the form. However, before making the payment, candidates must review their JEE Main application form 2018 by clicking on the ‘Review Application’ mode and make changes, if required. Once satisfied with all the data entered, candidates can proceed for the payment. Applicants have to select either Debit/Credit card or e-Challan (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC bank) as the payment mode and then click on the ‘Submit’ button. V. Print out of Confirmation Page

After making the payment, if the status of application fee payment is ‘OK’, candidates can take a print out of the acknowledgement page. Candidates must ensure to take a print out of the acknowledgement slip and keep it safe for future reference. The Acknowledgement slip is not required to be sent to JEE Main Secretariat. In case, the status of the payment is not ‘OK’ candidates have to undertake the following steps:

  • Payment made through electronic payment gateway might have been cancelled. Candidates will get back the amount within 7-10 days. Candidates will require to pay the fee amount again and make sure the status is shown OK.
  • Applicants making the payment through e-Challan have to contact the concerned bank to update their payment status

JEE Main Application Form 2018 Correction

In case, candidates have made a mistake while filling up the application form of JEE Main 2018, they will be allowed to rectify the same. Applicants have to make the correction online. Candidates will be allowed to change all the details, except change the mode of examination from Computer Based Test (CBT) to Pen and paper (P&P) mode. FAQs related to JEE Main Application Form 2018

Q. Can I submit JEE Main 2018 application form offline?

Ans. No, the application form is only available online and candidates cannot submit it via any other medium.

Q. How many centres do I need to select while filling the application form of JEE Main 2018?

Ans. Applicants can select a maximum number of four exam centres while filling the JEE Main application form 2018. JEE Main exam centre should be entered in the decreasing order of preference.

Q. The file size of the scanned copies of my photograph and signature exceeds the specified limit. What should I do?

Ans. Candidates have to compress the file to the size and dimension as specified and then upload it.

Q. What should I do if I have applied for both paper I and II but want to appear in either paper I or paper II?

Ans. It is not compulsory for candidates to appear in both the papers. Applicants can appear for the paper as per their choice.

Q. I forgot my JEE Main 2018 password. How do I retrieve it?

Ans. Candidates have to click on ‘I can’t access my account?’ button, choose ‘I forgot my password’ and then click on the ‘continue’ button. Candidates have to select any of the following options to reset their password.

  • Using security question and its answer you chosen during form filling
  • Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your registered mobile number
  • Using a reset link via Email to your registered Email address

Q. I forgot my JEE Main 2018 application number. How can I obtain my application number?

Ans. Candidates have to click on ‘I can’t access my account?’ button, select ‘I forgot my password’ and then click on the ‘continue’ button. To obtain the application number candidates have to enter the following information and then click on ‘Submit’ button:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Mother’s name
  • Father’s name
  • Date of birth
  • State of eligibility
  • Security pin
