JEE Main Exam Centres 2018JEE Main Exam Centres 2018: The exam centres of JEE Main 2018 enlist the names of all the cities across the country and abroad where CBSE will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The admit card of JEE Main 2018 has been released on March 12. The exam will be held at various designated centres in 258 cities in India and abroad. The pen and paper based JEE Main 2018 exam is scheduled to be held on April 8 while the online exam will be conducted on April 15 and 16. For the upcoming session, JEE Main exam will be held at a total of 258 centres. Among the total jee Main 2018 exam centres, 248 are located in different cities in India and 10 foreign countries. Candidates will be allotted JEE Main exam centre as per their preference of cities opted while applying for JEE. Applicants have to select JEE Main exam cities in the decreasing order of preference at the time of filling up the application form. Candidates appearing in the offline mode have to select four cities whereas, for the Computer Based Test (CBT), candidates can opt for only one JEE Main exam centre. The name and complete address of the exam centre of JEE Main 2018 will be displayed on the admit card issued to the candidates. How to Choose JEE Main Exam Centres 2018

As mentioned above, candidates have to opt for the exam cities as per their convenience at the time of filling up JEE Main application form 2018. Candidates have to select the exam city preference in the following way:

  • The option to select exam cities of JEE Main will be under the section ‘Exam Related Details’ of the application form.
  • After selecting the exam paper, mode and question paper medium, the drop down box to choose JEE Main exam centres 2018 will appear.
  • Candidates opting for pen and paper mode (P&P) of examination have to select four test cities.
  • Applicants who wish to appear for the entrance test in the online mode have to choose only one JEE Main exam centre 2018.
  • Candidates appearing in JEE Main paper 1 in the city where the examination is conducted only in CBT mode and also wants to appear in paper II have to select four other centre cities for paper 2.

Students can check the zone wise list of cities where CBSE will be conducting JEE Main. In all the JEE Main exam centres located in India, the entrance examination will be held in computer-based mode. While CBSE will conduct JEE Main in offline mode in selected cities. Candidates have to first choose the exam mode after which they will be able to select JEE Main exam centres 2018. Apart from the 248 cities of India listed above, JEE Main 2018 will also be conducted in 10 foreign countries. Candidates must note that in 3 foreign countries, namely, Colombo, Kathmandu and Singapore JEE Main 2018 will be held only in online mode. JEE Main Exam Centres 2018 Key Points

Candidates opting for the Pen and Paper (P&P) mode of examination were given the option to choose four exam centres while Computer Based Test (CBT) mode candidates were given one option.

  • The exam centre mentioned on the admit card of JEE Main will be final and no further changes will be allowed to be made under any circumstances.
  • For the Pen & Paper based examination, candidates will be allotted exam centre as per their choices. However, in some exceptional circumstances, a different city in a nearby area may be allotted.
  • If the number of candidates for computer-based examination is less than 50 in a city on a particular date then such candidates will be allotted last day of the computer-based examination in the same city.
  • In case of Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, applicants were allowed to choose only one JEE Main 2018 exam centre.
  • Candidates should have been careful while selecting JEE Main exam centres 2018 as once allotted it cannot be changed later. However, candidates were able to change their preference for exam centre at the time of JEE Main application form correction facility.
  • Candidates were advised to select the first preference of JEE Main exam centre nearest to their residence/location for their convenience.

Candidates can check the frequently asked questions (FAQs) about JEE Main exam centres below:

Q.1. At what time do I need to reach the exam centre on the day of examination?

Answer: Candidates are advised to reach JEE Main 2018 exam centre two and half hours in advance to complete of pre-examination formalities on time.

Q.2. Can I use a calculator at the exam centre for JEE Main ?

Answer: Use of calculators or any kind of electronic devices such as mobile phones, blue tooth devices etc. are prohibited in the examination hall.

Q.3. Do I need to carry a black ballpoint pen and sheet of paper for rough work to the exam hall?

Answer: Candidates must carry only the admit card to the exam centre. Candidates appearing for the P & P based test can carry a clipboard along with them. However, they must ensure that nothing is written on it.

Q.4. Will I be allowed to leave the exam centre during the entrance examination?

Answer: Candidates will not be allowed to leave their seat or exam hall until the full duration of the paper without the special permission of the Centre Superintendent or the Invigilator concerned.

Q.5. How will I know about the date and session of the examination if I failed to book the date for online examination after paying the fees or the capacity in the selected city is full?

Answer: If a candidate does not select the date for the online exam, he/she shall be randomly assigned a slot/date as per the availability of the same in the examination city selected by them. Details of session and slot will be mentioned on their admit card.

Q.6. Will there be any provision to change the exam centre of JEE Main 2018 after the submission of the application form?

Answer: Candidates are allowed to change the exam centre preference at the time of application form correction facility which was activated from January 9 to 22, 2018.
