Score of candidates in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, are announced withing few days from the exam date. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not even take 20 days to announce the result. However, candidates will be able to predict JEE Main result before the announcement, as answer key will also be issued by the authority.
Within a week or so, CBSE will issue JEE Main answer key. With the help of which, candidates will be able predict their score. But final and official marks will be announced as result, only.
Result of JEE Main will be issued in two part. First, the authority will announce marks secured by each candidate and later it will disclose the All India Rank (AIR) for them. As mentioned above, score will be announced within 20 to 25 days. However, authority will take almost three months to announce the ranks.
JEE Main scorecard can be easily downloaded. Candidates may secure a hard copy of it, for reference in further rounds of counseling.
To check JEE Main Result (All India Rank), candidates will again have to login, using the registration id and password. AIR will be published roll number-wise and candidates may check rest of the details, accordingly.
During admissions, both score and rank of candidates will be considered. However, candidates should know that JEE Main main will serve as a minimum eligibility criteria, to write JEE Advanced paper.
Purpose to announced JEE Main Scores, so quickly, is to delimit candidates for JEE Advance exam. Only top 150000 entrants, of Main, will be declared eligible to write Advanced paper. However, these candidates should either aggregate possess an aggregate of 75% marks or must fall among top 20 percentile (of successful entrants) in the qualifying exam.
Aspirants aiming to received admission in IITs and ISM, must ensure that they score well, so to attain position among top 1.5 lac qualifier of JEE Main.
After declaring scores and rank, candidates will be called for centralized counselling. Here, candidates will be called as per their rank and seat will be allotted to them. For allotting the seat, choice of course and college along availability of seat and performance of candidates will be considered.
To evaluate performance of candidate, process of normalization will be adopted. In this 60 percent weightage will be given to JEE Main score, whereas, 40 percent will be given to marks scored by candidates in class XII/ qualifying exam.
Official score card will be available for download after the issuance of scores, as well as rank. Both component of result cannot be challenged. Once announced, it will remain the same and no provision to alter it will be given. Scorecard of JEE Main will remain valid for a year. If candidates aim to receive admission, through the exam, next year then they will have to write and qualify the exam again.
