JEE Main Syllabus 2018 - The syllabus of JEE Main is prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The first step towards the preparation for Joint Entrance Examination is to be familiar with JEE Main syllabus. JEE Main syllabus 2018 is based on class XI and XII syllabus. There are two papers in JEE Main, Paper 1 for admission into B.E/B.Tech and paper 2 for admission into B.Arch./B.Plan. As per the exam pattern, JEE Main paper 1 syllabus comprises topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Whereas, paper 2 of JEE Main consist topics from Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing. An understanding of the syllabus of JEE Main 2018 will help candidates to make a proper plan to prepare for the entrance examination. The overall syllabus of JEE Main paper 1 and paper 2 differs and the paper pattern also varies. JEE Main paper 1 will have a total number of 90 questions with maximum 360 marks. Whereas, paper 2 of JEE Main to have 82 questions with total marks of 390.

JEE Main Syllabus 2018 for Physics
In previous year’s JEE Main exam, Physics was considered to be moderate in terms of difficulty level and the paper was lengthy. As per the analysis of students and experts, questions were easier as compared to the JEE Main paper of 2016. There were more calculative questions than theory based. The weightage of marks inclined towards the class 12 syllabus. 19 questions were based on class 12 syllabus while 11 questions were asked from the syllabus prescribed for class 11. JEE Main Syllabus 2018 for Chemistry
Chemistry was considered the easiest of all three papers in last year’s JEE Main exam. Questions asked in the exam from Chemistry were more theoretical than calculative due to which candidates found it the easiest as compared to the other two subjects. JEE Main Syllabus 2018 for Mathematics
In JEE Main exam conducted in the previous year, Mathematics was considered by most students to be the most difficult of the three subjects. As per experts and candidates, the Mathematics paper was lengthy however it was comparatively easier than JEE Main paper of the year 2016. Majority of questions were calculation based. In the Mathematics section, 20 questions were from class 12 and 10 from class 11. Constitutionally, the paper contained 15 questions from Algebra, 6 from Calculus, 3 from Trigonometry, 3 from Conics and 3 from Vector Algebra.
