KVPY Application Form 2017KVPY Application Form 2017: Candidates interested in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) fellowship programme were required to fill and submit the online KVPY 2017 application form on or before August 23, 2017. However, the application fee of KVPY could be paid until August 30, 2017. KVPY application form was released by IISc Bangalore on July 16, 2017. The KVPY application form was made available in online mode for Stream SA, SX and SB streams. Candidates had to register online with valid email ID and password, fill their personal, academic, communication and other important details in the form. The application form of only those candidates were accepted who fulfilled all the eligibility requirements defined by IISc, Bangalore. KVPY admit card has been issued to all the successfully registered candidates on October 15. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2017 is scheduled to be conducted in online mode on November 5, 2017, in two shifts of three hours duration each.


KVPY Application Form 2017 Dates

Candidates had to access the link provided below on this page and click on the tab ‘Registration and Application’. Before registration candidates were required to read the instructions carefully and then click on Register to continue. Candidates have to fulfil eligibility criteria of KVPY 2017 for their online KVPY application form 2017 to get accepted by IISc, Bangalore. 

The KVPY application 2017 process involves the following steps given below. There are three steps to complete the application successfully;

  • Registration
  • Fill online KVPY application form
  • Upload Documents
  • Submit application form
  • Pay the KVPY application fees

How to Fill KVPY Application Form 2017?

The step-wise KVPY application procedure is described in detail below:

Step-1 Registration: Then, candidates had to click on ‘Register’ and provide the following:

  • Presently Studying in class
  • Name of the Candidate: (Fill in exactly as in 10th Standard Marks Card) *
  • Full Name of the Candidate
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth: (Enter your Date of Birth as it appears in your 10th STD Certificate.)*
  • Candidate's Age as on January 1, 2017
  • Category
  • Person with Disability
  • Nationality
  • Email Address
  • Confirm Email Address
  • Mobile Number 
  • Confirm Mobile Number

Candidates were required to provide their email ID, mobile number and other details as basic details & click on submit button to continue. After successful registration, candidates were sent their ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’ to their registered email address and mobile 

Step-2 How to fill the KVPY Application Form 2017?

Candidates had to log in with the given user ID and password and start filling up the application form. The candidates had to click on 'Apply/Edit'.

In the online KVPY application form candidates had to enter the following details.

  • Address details
  • Academic and Exam Preference Details
  • Preference 1
  • Preference 2
  • Preference 3
  • Preference 4

After filling all the details, candidates had to click on ‘Submit’ button.

Step 3: Upload Scanned Documents

Candidates had to upload their scanned images (Photograph, Signature & Caste Certificate (If applicable) in a given format as prescribed by the authority. The images were required to be of the given specifications in the image below.

Step 4: Preview Details

Candidates could check the details they have entered in the application form. If any modifications were required candidates could change in the preview step.

Candidates had to tick mark on ‘I Agree’ box & click on ‘Final Submit’ button after cross-checking all the details. Candidates were required take the print copy of the KVPY application form 2017 for future reference.

Step-5 Payment of Application fees

Candidates had to pay the application fees by clicking on 'continue payment option'. The fee includes service charges. Candidates can pay KVPY 2017 application fee until August 30, 2017

Candidates could pay the application fees of KVPY through two modes:

  • Online Payment Gateway: Candidates could pay the pay the fees through Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Card

  • E- challan: Candidates had to download e-challan, visit any branch of SBI bank and deposit the requisite fee amount. Applicants could make the challan payment in any branches of nationalised bank in India.

Highlights of KVPY 2017 application form

IISc Bangalore released the online application in online mode only. Some of the important highlights of KVPY application form 2017  is given below.

  • Applicants were required to submit only one application form. In case of multiple applications, the last application will be accepted.
  • After the last date for KVPY application form submission, candidates will not be allowed to change any particulars in the form.
  • Before filling KVPY application form 2017, candidates were instructed to read the all instructions carefully to avoid any kind of mistakes.
  • Applicants who wanted to pay their application fee offline had to download e-challan and take a print out to pay the requisite fees.

KVPY 2017 Eligibility Criteria

All the candidates must be eligible to appear KVPY 2017. Through KVPY 2017 candidates are given fellowships to study in India. Students intending to pursue/pursing undergraduate program under Distance Education scheme/correspondence course of any university are not eligible to apply for KVPY 2017. Below are the eligibility criteria for three different streams:

  • Candidates should be an Indian National.

  • Stream SA (Class X): Candidates have to complete their 10th class with Science & Mathematics subjects. They have to secure at least 75% marks (65% marks for SC/ST/PwD) aggregate in the qualifying examination.

  • Stream SX (Class XII): Candidates have to pass 10th class with minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Mathematics & Science subjects. Candidates also have to qualify the 10+2 examination with Science subjects & secure at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD category) in aggregate.

  • Stream SB (B.Sc): Candidates have to complete their 10+2 examination & secure minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate in Science Subjects. Candidates also have to pass their first-year final examination & secure at least 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD).
