MHT CET 2018 - Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra will conduct MHT CET 2018 on May 10 for admission to UG engineering courses in nearly 360 participating institutes. Registration for MHT CET 2018 has started online from January 18. Last date to fill the application form of MHT CET 2018 is March 25, 2018. As per MHT CET eligibility criteria, Indian national candidates having cleared or appeared 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) are eligible to appear for the exam. MHT CET 2018 is a pen and paper based test which comprises two compulsory papers- Paper I (Mathematics) and paper II (Physics and Chemistry). Questions in the entrance test will be based on class XI and XII syllabus prescribed by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education. Apart from MHT CET 2018, admission will also be granted to All India candidature students based on JEE Main 2018 scores. In 2017, a total number of 3,89,520 registered for MHT CET out of which 3,76,282 candidates appeared for the exam. DTE Maharashtra has laid down some norms that candidates need to fulfill to appear in MHT CET 2018. Check MHT CET eligibility criteria such as nationality and qualification requirements below:
Nationality- Candidates who are citizens of India are eligible for MHT CET 2018.
Academic qualification- Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Vocational subjects as optional subject.
Minimum qualifying marks- Candidates must secure at least 50% in the subjects taken together. The minimum qualifying marks for reserved category candidates is 45%.
The application form of MHT CET has been made available online on January 18, 2018. The entire application procedure will be carried out in the online mode. Candidates planning to appear for the exam can fill MHT CET 2018 application form till March 25. MHT CET 2018 application fee is Rs. 800 (Rs. 600 for reserved categories) which has to be paid online via net banking or debit/ credit card along with additional charges. Aspirants must keep scanned images of necessary documents ready before filling MHT CET application form. Candidates have to follow the steps given below to successfully register for MHT CET 2018:

MHT CET 2018 will be conducted at all the 36 district headquarters of Maharashtra. Candidates belonging to the state will be allotted MHT CET exam centre within the same district from where they have passed or appearing class 12 or equivalent examination. While students passing the qualifying examination from outside the state have to select exam city choice at the time of filling the application form. Request for change in MHT CET exam centre allotted to candidates will not be entertained under any circumstances.
The MHT CET Admit Card will be issued to registered candidates from April 24, 2018. MHT CET admit card will be released online and to download it candidates have to log in with their application number, password and security key. The admit card of MHT CET 2018 will not be sent through post or any other medium. MHT CET 2018 admit card will bear the name and address of the exam venue, exam schedule, candidates personal details and exam day guidelines. Candidates have to carry MHT CET admit card along with a photo identity proof in original to the exam centre for verification. Candidates must ensure to retain the print out of MHT CET admit card 2018 until the completion of the admission process.
The Exam Pattern of MHT CET gives an insight into the pattern of the question paper such as the duration, total marks, no. of papers, etc. As per MHT CET 2018 exam pattern, the duration of the exam is 180 minutes. DTE Maharashtra has also notified that the difficulty level of MHT CET 2018 will be at par with JEE Main. There will be no negative marking for any incorrect response. The syllabus of MHT CET 2018 is based on class XI and XII syllabus prescribed by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. MHT CET syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics that candidates have to study for the examination. DTE Maharashtra has announced that while setting the question paper, 80% weightage will be given to class 12 curriculum while 20% weightage will be given to class 11 curriculum. Candidates appearing in MHT CET 2018 must thoroughly cover the prescribed syllabus to score well in the exam.
Candidates seeking admission in B.E./B.Tech courses through MHT CET 2018 are advised to solve sample papers. Solving MHT CET sample papers will make aspirants acquainted to the test pattern. Candidates will be able to analyse their preparation level and improve their weak areas. Through sample papers of MHT CET 2018 candidates will get an idea about the type of questions they can expect in the examination. MHT CET sample papers 2018 will help students to revise the topics they have studied and with regular practice they will be able to improve their speed, accuracy and time management skill.
The answer key of MHT CET 2018 will be published by various coaching institutes few hours after the completion of the examination. MHT CET answer key 2018 will consist correct responses to questions asked in paper I and paper II. With the use of answer key candidates will be able to know the estimated MHT CET 2018 score. DTE Maharashtra will release the provisional answer key along with MHT CET OMR answer sheet in the fourth week of May. The official answer key will be open for challenge. Candidates have to submit their objections on MHT CET official answer key in the given format through their registered email within the specified time period.
The result of MHT CET 2018 will be declared on or before June 3, 2018. MHT CET result will be declared online and to check it candidates have to log in with their application number, date of birth and security key. MHT CET result will state the marks secured in the examination. DTE Maharashtra will also publish MHT CET result in PDF file format which will consist group name, roll number, subject wise and overall marks secured by candidates.
DTE Maharashtra will release provisional merit list of MHT CET 2018 in the third week of May. MHT CET merit list will be prepared on the basis of score obtained by candidates in the entrance test. Candidates can check the provisional merit list through their application number and date of birth. After the publication of the provisional merit list candidates will be allowed to submit grievances if any. The final merit list will be published in the fourth week of June. Admission in the first year undergraduate engineering programmes will be done completely on the basis of MHT CET 2018 merit list.
The cutoff of MHT CET will be published online by DTE Maharashtra in pdf file format. MHT CET cut off will be released separately for Maharashtra (MH) and All India (AI) category seats. MHT CET cutoff list includes merit, choice code, name of the institute, course name, exam name etc. The cutoff of MHT CET 2018 will be based on various factors like availability of seat, the difficulty level of examination, total no. of students etc. Only the candidates who meet the cutoff set by the institutes for different courses will be able to take admission.
The counselling of MHT CET will be done on the basis of the merit list. DTE Maharashtra will invite applications from qualified candidates for MHT CET counselling. The online registration for MHT CET counselling will start in the first week of June 2018. During MHT CET 2018 counselling candidates have to submit necessary documents for verification. Only the candidates who successfully verify their documents and fulfill eligibility norms will be allotted seats in the engineering courses.
The participating institutes of MHT CET 2018 include Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided engineering institutes in the Maharashtra State. There are around 360 participating institutes that fill approximately 138226 B.E./B.Tech seats through MHT CET counselling.
