NATA 2018 - The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is administered by the Council of Architecture (CoA). Through NATA 2018 around 450 institutes across the country will offer admission in 5-year B.Arch courses. The CoA is likely to conduct NATA in the third week of April 2018. Interested candidates have to fill NATA application form 2018 to be released online in January. As per NATA eligibility criteria, to appear in the aptitude test candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum 50%. The admit card of NATA will be available in March 2018. NATA 2018 will be a pen and paper-based test including questions from Mathematics, General aptitude and drawing. To appear in NATA 2018 candidates have to satisfy the eligibility requirements prescribed by CoA. As per NATA eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Applicants who have passed 10 + 3 diploma or International Baccalaureate Diploma are also eligible for NATA 2018. In the qualifying examination, candidates have to secure minimum 50% for admission in B.Arch courses. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in NATA.
The application form of NATA will be released online in January 2018. Candidates have to fill the application form, upload documents and pay the application fee of Rs. 1250. NATA 2018 application fee can be paid online or through e-challan. NATA application form is categorised into the following four steps:

The exam centres of NATA are the venues where CoA will conduct the aptitude test. NATA will be held in around 69 cities of India and in Dubai. Candidates have to choose three cities as per their preference at the time of applying for NATA 2018. A particular city might have multiple NATA exam centres and students will be allotted a centre in the city of their choice. The request for change of the allocated NATA exam centre 2018 will not be entertained under any circumstances.
The admit card of NATA will be issued online in March 2018. Candidates have to download NATA admit card through their application number and password. NATA admit card 2018 will indicate the name of the exam centre allotted to the candidates. The hall ticket of NATA will also have the examination roll number, exam date and time and candidates’ personal details. The admit card is important for all the test takers as without it they will not be allowed to sit for NATA 2018. Candidates must retain the admit card until the completion of the admission procedure.
NATA Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates must reach NATA exam centre 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination. They are required to carry a printed copy of NATA admit card, one copy of photograph similar to the one uploaded, photo identity proof, black/ blue ball point pen, pencil, eraser, colour pencils and cardboard/ clip board (if required).
The exam pattern of NATA is defined by the CoA. NATA 2018 will be a pen and paper based test to be held for a total duration of 3 hours. Candidates appearing in NATA 2018 have to attempt questions from three subjects. The Mathematics and General Aptitude section will have multiple choice questions while the Drawing section will test the candidate’s ability to sketch given object proportionately, sense of perspective drawing etc. The question and marks distribution for the three sections of the question paper as per NATA exam pattern 2018 is given below in the table:

NATA syllabus comprises topics and sub-topics prescribed for the subjects Mathematics, aptitude test and drawing. Questions asked in the aptitude test will be based on NATA syllabus 2018. The Mathematics section will have questions from topics such as Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices etc. In General aptitude candidates have to attempt questions on mathematical reasoning, sets and relations to name a few. While, the drawing test will assess candidates’ understanding of scale and proportion of objects, aesthetics, building forms and elements among others.
The sample papers of NATA 2018 will help candidates to know about the exam pattern and the type of questions they can expect in the aptitude test. NATA sample papers are introduced for candidates to prepare more effectively for the test. With regular practice test takers can improve their problem-solving skills, time management, speed and accuracy level. Candidates who want to score well in NATA 2018 must practice sample papers after they have thoroughly covered the prescribed syllabus.
The answer key of NATA 2018 will be published online in the fourth week of May. NATA answer key 2018 will be released only for the Mathematics and aptitude test sections. With the help of NATA answer key candidates will be able to cross check their responses and calculated the probable score. Before releasing NATA 2018 answer key the response sheet of each candidate will also be published online. Candidates will be allowed to request for rechecking the machine recorded responses online by making a payment of Rs.1000 per question within the stipulated period of time.
The CoA will declare the result of NATA 2018 online in June. To download NATA result 2018 candidates have to log in with their application number and password. NATA score card will be valid only for one year. NATA result will be available in three formats- subject wise and total marks obtained, merit listing and percentile score. The merit listing will be done on the basis of marks scored by the candidates and tie breaking rules.
The cutoff of NATA is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates must score to qualify the aptitude test. Candidates can check NATA cutoff 2018 from the table given below:

The CoA is only responsible for conducting NATA along with publishing the result of the candidates. The counselling of NATA will be conducted individually by the participating institutes. Candidates have to apply for the counselling and seat allotment process separately at the desired institutes. At the time of reporting for NATA counselling, candidates have to verify their documents, pay the requisite fee and complete all the necessary admission process.
There are nearly 450 institutes of architecture approved by the COA. NATA participating institutes 2018 include Government, Government aided and unaided schools/colleges of architecture spread across the country. Based on candidates’ performance in the aptitude test NATA participating institutes will conduct the counselling individually.
