No Taker for 30,000 Engineering Seats in Telangana

As much as 30,000 seats are still remaining vacant in Telangana State after completion of first phase of EAMCET 2014 Counselling whereas a total number of 85,455 seats were available in engineering colleges in Telangana. From a reliable source, it has been found that merely 55,000 candidates have registered and exercised their options in the option entry phase for the EAMCET 2014 Seat Allotment which will be announced today i.e. 30th August 2014 at 6:00 PM.

Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) for admissions to the engineering and medical colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Nearly 174 engineering colleges were removed from the EAMCET 2014 Counselling due to their not being able to meet the required standards in terms of facultynorms etc. The seats amounted to nearly one lakh in all these colleges  However, The High Court had directed JNTU Hyderabad to send a list of colleges that have met the required norms. Subsequently, another round of counselling will be organized to offer these seats to the candidates.   Find more details.
